guys i know this has been dun to death....but if searched everywhere 4 the post.
basically i need a guide to replace my old rear lights to the new 09 ones i got yday. just bulletpoints would do...
cheers

if u've got the 3dr just follow the instructions in manual to change a bulb (you have to pull the full light unit out to do this). Disconnect the old one and plug in the new, simple as that. Just watch the plastic cover in the boot covering the screw (i've got one loose behind the trim somewhere now!!)

5dr I think needs programming tho...

Didnt see you were new :sign_welcome: to the forum.
And thanks. As already said above its only a 10min job and quite easy. Just unscrew the old ones and screw the new ones in. Just plug and play :)

is there a guide for the sportback ?

i am also interested in sorting this out

from kufatec's website, it says not suitable for RHD....

and so i need to buy a vagcom too if so ?

cheers mate !

rear lights are tricky to get out, but keep filding and moving them bit by bit and the eventually do come out... I managed to do it without a guide/help in about 15mins - its pretty easy

I've bought mine from kufatec and I don't see why they say they are not suitable for RHD since on the both sides there are the same lights. The ones for 3 doors are indeed for LHD.
The ones for sportback, both have the fog and reverse light so...
After fitting, in order to make them work correct you need to do the following coding using a vagcom:
Code:
central electronics

coding

help with long coding

Btye 9 to Dec = 0 - as the final brake light
Byte 10 to Dec = 0 - Fog lamps as a taillight
Byte 12 to Dec = 36 - dimming rear standlight
Byte 19 Bit 2 Cold Diagnosis rear active - this must be activated

I have the exact lights from the link i put up , and my car is UK right hand drive.
They are fitted and coded.

Not sure why kufetec say not suitable RHD.

Audi directly mate.

BTW guys there's a thread linked in the FAQs all about these lights. Both 3 and 5 door.

Johnny, I have got my new SB lights working with my wiring & they work fine, but I'm just curious of a few things & I'm playing with mine a little & seeing whats possible before I seal the babies up, so any chance of some info please:

Whats your long coding presently for module 09
How do your rear clusters work, as in when you brake what lights up, what is used for parking lights the ring or bulbs
Do your led rings work when you brake aswell
Do the 2 outer light bulbs that are in the middle of the led ring get used now & if so for what
Your kufa loom, where did the spare loose wire have to be wired to as I notice pin 4 of these isnt used which powers the ring inners, so must be using an existing feed in the boot lid for inner rings

Thanks in advance.

Will the LED light from Kufatec to my 2005 3-door fit and work without coding? Anybody tried this?
