Hi guys.

Just thought i would like to share my thoughts after just having my S3 remapped further to stage 2.

After purchasing the car with already a stage 1 remap i then spent around 3k on upgrading the car. FMIC, Full Miltek, and coilover to get the car just how i wanted it. I would just like to comment quickly that the Full Miltek system had done wonders to the car. Just upgrading the exhaust made the car soo much free'er. Really pulled nice, no restriction.

I then had the car RR'd and it was producing 248bhp and around 280 lb/t. At this stage i thought the car was quick until i had the stage 2 remap done.

Oh my god guys. :) after stage 2 and then afew RR'ds to get it set up properly it now producers 278bhp and 300 lb/t.

Took it out last night and f..k me is the car quick. Unreal peformance. I just couldnt believe how the car went. It pulls like no other.

If any one is considering getting their car to stage 2 it is with doubt an unbelievable increase in performance.

I would appreciate anyone's comments or feedback if you have already had it done or considering in having it done. Or any general questions.

Thanks for your time in reading this post. :icon_thumright:

converting my car a3 quattro to k04 so basicly s3 set up injectors etc got miltek cat back s3 exhaust 3inch sport down pipe and 3 inch sport cat to fit and obviously fmic but did u do anything else to got to stage 2 eg bigger injectors uprated fule pump thanks

What other mods have you got? You mentioned you spent £3k, and talked about FMIC, Miltek, coilovers, etc. Have you got a 3" DP aswell?

Im hoping to go 3" DP, sports cat, free flowing exhaust and hybrid turbo.

i have done the same going from just stage1 to stage2 with all the extras and the difference is amazing i think the difference feels about the same as from std to stage1 was

Im trying to source a full turbo back Milltek so I can go for a stage 2. May go for a custom system though as Milltek is 2.75 inche in diameter and want a 3 inche system.

Spoke to Milltek yesterday and they said they are stopping their DP's.

Spatan, have you got sports cats or a de cat.

A mate of mine was considering getting a stage 2 map, dp etc etc, however, once you add up the cost of the additional mods, 3K in your case, your not far off affording something like this:

http://www.jbsautodesigns.co.uk/pro...e-1-330360bhp-for-all-210-225-240-bhp-18-20vt

I was thinking much the same thing. Although Im assuming most of the £3k was suspension mods, the Miltek and the FMIC, none of which is included in the JBS bit turbo kit.

280bhp is a decent return for the mods.

Well for a stage 2 you only need a turbo back exhaust, DV and uprated air filter. FMIC is not need for a stage 2 but it helps.

I would say £1500 max for stage 2.

id say you also need the fmic as the boost goes up to 25psi so the k04 running that sort of boost is just a heat pump, otherwise your never going to be able to maintain the power your stage2 would give you

If I was going to spend £500+ on another remap, Id want all the possible mods done first, even if they arent actually required. I daresay the OP got such good results from his setup because of the additional mods. Id want an FMIC, DP and sports cat/decat plus the usual upgrades before going Stage 2.

The mods I said are the only ones that are actually NEEDED for Revo for example for them to upload their software but ye FMIC would obviously be of a good benefit. If your going for a custom map, I agree do all the mods you can before.

A lot of the Cupra boys are running stage 2 without FMIC though and all got health figures.

The only upgrades were Full Miltek (High flow sports Cat), FMIC (Forge) Coilovers, Forge DV, Bigger hose for the Turbo (not sure what its called but it allows more air in than the standard hose).

I didnt do anything else like the injectors and file pump.

who done the stage 2 mate.

Hi mate.

Originally the stage 1 remap was done by AMD but i found out during stage 2 they used REVO software.

Stage 2 was done by Clive Atthowe Tuning in Norwich. Great guys and done a really great job on remapping my car. Using REVO stage 2 software. Would recommend them to anyone. Excellent.

The Miltek system is a Full high Flow sports Cat. I think its correct. All i know is it was ****** expensive at £1200. An incredible difference over the standard system. The standard ones are very restrictive.

Oh forget to mention guys that the 278bhp and 300 lb/t, this was with only 14psi. which i thought were decent figures considering the low psi.

Yeah thats what i thought but these guys know what they are talking about. 14psi is what they said. Having a low psi is obvoiusly better for the car if you can get it.

I presume they havent got the psi figure wrong then. Im not expert on this. With the power figures that i got with the stage 2 can the figures be right then with 14psi. (unless it a mistake) comments. ??

I would of thought more like 24psi. Im sure 14 is about standard.

Im fairly confident though that 14psi was what they said. I will have to double check those figures to clarifly this. I remember commenting on increasing the psi as it was quite low. Their comments were running a lower psi is obvousily better for the car than a higher figure psi.

I'd of thought you've got your figures confused, 14psi is not even 1 bar...

Wow....sounds great!

Glad you are happy with your car. I'd love to have that sort of power.

I've decided to do it differently to most, going for suspension components first. Costing 2k, then i'll look at brakes, FMIC/Exhaust and a Garrett JBS conversion.

G

Can you use the sps module with Revo Stage 2? I can fancy getting it done but I have a standard downpipe/exhaust.

When the likes of jbs say, so and so is recomended, they obviously recomend items from their shelf, is there cheaper but just as good items, one being the TIP, on ebay there selling a 4 ply tip for £75, because do to a bt there saying you needs to spend a good £1500 to even be able to have a bt.?

Nice sounding car btw, I may look into getting a exhuast now, i got some bad press about them saying they wasnt needed unless going bt.?

Hmm , interesting stuff. I'd like stage 2 but was always put off as i can't afford all the add-ons i thought were required in order to stage 2 it.

Is stage 2 just basically more boost then?

14PSI can't be right?

As fair as im aware with the stage 2, you must have a high flow exhaust fitted to do the stage 2 remap. Just like to add guys that 278bhp n 300 lb/t on these cars is an awesome feeling. I have non res and the feeling on acceleration and sound just makes you smile. Happy days.

When i first brought my S3 it just had a remap with a forge dv and performance air filter. Everything else standard as such. Raced this N reg scobby and too my disappointment he slowly pulled away from me. Kinda annoyed me abit as you do when you're the owner of an S3. All i can say now is that im ****** ready for him now if i ever come across him again. :salute:

I'd defiantly look at those psi figures as you all seem to say its too low. I'll check my RR print out and see if its on their. Thanks

Sounds like your over the moon mate. Good figures you have got there too, pretty sure its not going to be 14psi though. 280bhp should keep you satisfied for a little while at least.

Just spoke to the guys that done my stage 2 remap. The psi is actually 19/20 psi running on my car. Just shows what i know. Thanks anyway guys for your input.

Im now wondering what the stage 3 @ 350 bhp must feel like. Must be mind blowing. :)
