Are you in the wrong forum? Seriously, S3s are hatchbacks with a bit of poke, I'd struggle to define them as top spec sports cars.

If you want to stay in your seat, buy a decent set of Recaros and a 5 point harness....and some skittles

Agreed, the S3 is a hot hatch, and isn't really a "set your pants on fire" type car, it is a good all-round machine though, and thats why i chose one. I would never compare it to a rear wheel drive drive, mid engined sports car though, and to be honest it's unfair to do so, as much as I can't help it having moved from one to the S3.

The TT however is a different kettle of fish....why would you bother???

You may want to pay good money to be in a bucket but when i spend money i prefer to be in something more tight and snug like leather Recaro Sportster CS seats ...

They look similar, but they're not as supportive as the OEM buckets. You get the CS in Corsa VXRs and Mini JCWs.

Currently in a Mini R56 JCW with Recaro seats ( cs version ) and looking at ordering a new S3. I sat in a S3 with buckets this weekend and can without doubt confirm that the Audi buckets are even tighter than the Recaro CS.

The CS in full leather also wear very quickly / badlt on the drivers bolster. I had mine repaired after 3k miles.

The S3 buckets seem reasonable value when you consider the following:

Mini charge 2k for seats and then £300+ to fit and code. ( £150 to code if you fit ). This is a dealer option and not available from factory. So you can swap them back to your OEM seats and sell on to recoup some costs...............but have to pay again for coding.

At least Audi take the hassle factor out.

I wonder how well they would co-ordinate with the rest of the interior in the S3, do you think they would look OEM or do the mounting plates etc make them look like they are clearly not.

They wouldn't look as OEM as the buckets for sure and the side airbags ( coding of ) may be an issue.

They also would sit higher than OEM seats as you need adaptor / runners and they do not adjust for height.

Agreed! I have been looking at them cs for a while.. wondering whether if i got them, would they satisfy? would i still look at the RS buckets and wish i had them.. guess this answers it!

To be honest. I have experience of

Audi S3 Buckets = Matt Andrew's (detailed it and driven it LOADS of times)
Recaro Sportster CS = Cousin's TT (Had the car for 6 months driven daily)

I can honestly say that the Audi Buckets are the most supportive, but I think the CS are the more comfortable over all...
