Any of you lot going to ADI this weekend?

Remember the years gone past of clusters of A/S3's up at the top end of the complex by the restaurant area?

Wondered how many of you are going this year, and whether any of you are dusting down your helmets down for some action :)

I'm heading up there for a look about / possible track run in the morning. I think Voorhees should be there.

Any more for any more?

Wondered whether there would be any appetite to cluster the S3's / A3's or whether that will get taken care of naturally as part of the ASN car parking management?

Be good to meet up with a few of you as I know you in the faceless world of t'interweb but wouldn't know most of you if we crossed in passing at ADI.

I would truly love to and we may still turn up, weather and other commitments permitting. Might see ya'll there.

KKP

According to the list there are only 8 8Ps on the ASN stand which is a bit disappointing considering the shear numbers that frequent the 8P.

Looking forward to meeting you all though. I'll be taking my laptop if anyone needs a bit of VCDS tweaking gimme a shout. I'll be the one with a big nose and a spikey fringe :hi:

Genius, since fitting my RNS-E I'm having some issues with the phone system not recognizing ANY voice commands, and an error with the phone system being coded wrong (I have the one for diversity antenna and can live with that).

Ditto spikey fringe / hair. Look for champagne coloured RX square framed prescription oakleys (not sunglasses), and I'll look better fed than you - that will be me!

Aah ok. I was looking out for a bloke with a spinning head. lol
:lmfao:

With the number of 8P committed to attend on here, it's like everyone has defected to another part of the t'interweb.

Ok we'll have a look. My best guess would be to copy the coding from mine

Got a headrest mount fitted in case I go out on the track to do some laps. Hope the weather improves.

Leon, a shot gun might be handy :sorry:

LOL

I see no reason why the 8Ps cant be grouped together, same for 8Ls and B5s and B6s if you lot up for some vehicular juggling, lol

I forgot that Warren was actually asking a question lol

Yeah I'm up for the grouping idea :icon_thumright:

If its too much like hard work please don't worry. I can imagine given the limitations based around space of parking etc. it could be quite tough to manage over time.

Staz, shotgun! You're brave ;-)

Not that I'm going to drive that fast, just that I don't have distant links to Schumi or Loeb in my family tree, and hence the linked genes!

Wanted to clean the car tonight but it's drizzling :sadlike:

To get to the collection point for 8 am means I'd have to be cleaning the car by 6am tomorrow to get it done in time :sign_unfair:

I'll be there too but on the VAG forum section, didn't realise a group was being organised off here, tbh never looked though been really busy lately.

I'll bring my lid in case I fancy a venture on track but seems pricey at £50 for 15 mins !!

Will come and say hello..

Peeing it down here so car is unlikely to get cleaned :(

My car needs a good going over inside and out but I have no time now. Just been fitting the non smoking pack tray and revision D DV.

Nice to meet you Warren et al!

Did Pete get any good shots?

I certainly hope I did! and that ****** camera was heavy.

Neil

(Pete's my first name Leon ;) )

Was indeed good to meet a good few people there (Staz / PNS2007 / Benskin / Boggy / Jamiekip / Jojo / Voorhees but to name a few).

For those of you on the ASN stand, I was the one with the dirty filthy S3 in grey who unlike the conscientious ones of the forum couldn't be @r$ed to wash it.

Fortunately Staz didn't have to use the safe word out on the track despite some rusty driving. Hadn't pushed the car hard for 18 months on a track, and since then the wheels have changed and the cars gone to stage 2+ so had to get used to the drive characteristics (whilst not putting my daily driver in the wall). 19's have done nothing for the car but then I only track day once or twice a year at most.

Finally, before I get into the photos a BIG thank you to Staz for looking at my car on VAGCOM, and to Pete (PNH2007) for taking the track based photos for me.

I'm afraid the thread is about to get picture heavy, so apologies to anyone with low download speeds:

Great pics mate! :)

BTW Warren I think you should try out Lamin-X, I think it'll suite your car very well. Jamie and BoggyM's cars look mean in that photo!

"Some other cars on track"... that's me and chris in the S3's there... we bloomin well nailed that R8 in the end too :lmfao:

I echo your comments Warren - was good to see some of the old faces and meet some new one's.

Cheers Warren.

Thanks for posting the pics, always a surprise to see yourself "up on the screen" so to speak.

Good to you meet you and Staz and the others (sorry others, I'm crap with names and met so many different people that day with at least two different names, I struggled trying to remember everyone in the end).

Twas a good day and I had some cracking sessions with Jamie on the track, we were kicking ***!! The cars we were dicing with came as a real shock. It's not until you get chance to go flat out up to about 120 mph with some serious cars that you realise these tuned S3's we're all driving are dam quick! It's no wonder I keep getting points on my licence.

Cheers, Chris.

Twas a good day. So far the only casualty is brake pads, but if ever I needed an excuse for some decent ones it is here. Shame Ferodo don't do any as I don't rate the OEM ones much.
