Just been given (quote given!) an Audi A4 1.8T Cabriolet! Its the basic model i think, cloth seats, cd player etc.

It was given to me by my mother who has decided she wants an Aston Martin... So im quite lucky! (being 1 of 6 children!)..

Just got it in the body shop to get some stone chips and scratches repaired.

I am after some advice on what i can do to make it stand out, its Navy Blue colour (i assume Azure blue?), with a Blue Roof.

I cant seem to find anything for the cabriolet!

Daniel.
Proud Audi A4 Owner.

Once its back from the body shop, its going to get the interior seen too, as its been sat for over a year hence the roof is mucky, she was going to drive it this summer but decided she wanted an Aston Martin.. Oh Well, i know its out of Summer season, but no cruising, means i can save to get it ready for next summer!

Get some new wheels straight away, i've just got some rs4 reps on my cab. i will get some pic's up.
A rear b7 light upgrade would look good as well.

Where is the best place to get decent wheels+tyre packages from not got a lot of money left, having just sent it to the bodyshop for the panels to be sprayed and the stone chips (and few stone dents) taken out

just check they're doing the right spec on the tyres: just looking at the RS8 reps link and their "wheels+Toyo's" package is £50 less than the cost of my T1-R's alone!!

Normally means they're using narrow spec tyres (205mm rather than 235mm)...

ah - I bought OEM wheels, so my tyres were for a set of 5 wheels, not just the four that they're offering... still: £130/corner = £520 and they're charging £610 for 4 wheels+ tyres?!?

Good prices if the tyres are on-spec!

What size wheels can i fit on the Audi, i want to get it lowered a bit also but cant find any lowering springs on the net...

16's are stock, 17's are the later "sport spec" and 18's are the normal "big wheel" as per the upgrade options on S-Line (and standard on the S4).... 40 profile rubber, so even with 235mm width that's getting fairly slim (here's my 18's):

19's are definitely possible, but getting into debatable territory... and anything beyond that and you're getting to VERY low profile and not worth it unless you're using a trailer to get the cars to show'n'shines....

plenty to do to the cabs mate, especially if youve got a standard spec one.
not much in the line of body mods though im afraid.
as far as wheels go, ive got 18" rs6 reps on mine and it rides fine.
interior mods, well where do you stop ? i hope you have deep pockets, very easy to get carried away with it all, steering wheels, rns-e, ally trims etc etc.

Wow, where did you get the steering wheel from, also how easy is it to put a Double Din unit in the dash? Because i only have the standard CD Player, and want a Double Din touch screen Radio....

Any links/sites etc will greatly help! :)

looks very clean, i think you've got O.C.D just like me.

Acidic: go to the Hazzy Dayz website.... (www.vwcruise.com) they're based between Milton Keynes and London now, so not too far for you... and will visit "local" customers for pretty minimal charges...

They do the S-Line "Flat Bottomed" multi-funciton wheel (FBMFSW) upgrades, double DIN conversions, RNS-E units, xenons, parking sensors, etc, etc... basically any electrical / electronic upgrade you can imagine.... the owner has a B6 1.8T (SE) and has added everything you could imagine to it, so you can test have a look at everything there first...

be warned, the FBMFSW is expensive... a new one from Audi is >£800 just for the wheel, airbag, looms and slip-ring!

even a 2nd hand eBay job is nromally gonna set you back £500+ once you have all the parts (inc airbag) and you'll still need to install it.

RNS-E conversion is more straight forward (2-DIN conversion cage is only about £30)... (and you can get all the parts for a few hundred), but check out the Hazzy Dayz prices as a starting point - just remmeber that they include all the parts incl a replacement aircon unit with the narrower facia...

losty,
are you on comission with hazzy days ? lol

acidic32,
all can be done yourself and save a small fortune, nothing to involved with any of the mods so far.
i had to do the single to double din conversion, just a case of allowing yourself a couple of hours to do it and take your time, then the rns-e is a slot straight in job, with the relevant loom adapter obviously.
cant see why anyone would want to buy another climate unit when theres that many people on here that have trimmed there own down, i did my own with great results
steering wheel is a little more involved, getting all the correct parts etc, all available off the bay.
as losty said, its not a cheep mod though mate.
gareth at hazzy days is quiet expensive but he knows his stuff if you dont feel up for it, hes at hemel hempsted now.

as for prices off the bay, your looking at roughly :

rns-e £400 - £450
double din cage £30 - £40
replacement narrower climate ( if you want to wiast money ) £100 - £120

fbmfsw with airbag £400 - £450 ( loom will need adapting )
control module £50
slipring £90 ish ( £185 new )

vagcom will be required for both the above mods.

all the prices are rough estimates, im sure a few others on here will chip in with there opinions aswell.

Lol, out of funds pretty much at the moment, so I haven't been looking myself lately! I've given up hope of finding another unpainted rear Avant lower bumper with twin exhaust holes :3sadwalk:

Will try harder for you :whip:

PS the Montego is probably worth a fortune if it's tidy! ;)
