Hi all, i have the HID, conversion on my car but am looking for a better colour light to come from my main beam and fogs the xenons are great but dont like the yellow look from the for mentioned lights when all on, what options do i have??

Thanks in advance,
Matty.

Oh by the way big thanks to quattrojames for help with the grill, i have fitted the vortex upper, will blacken the lower later take and post some pic's for opinions as i'm not sure.

You have to ask yourself 'how often do I use the main beam?'. If the answer is rarely then it's a pretty pointless mod. You can get several brands of whiter 'xenon look' bulbs though if you're set on changing.

Likewise with the fogs, changing the bulbs will make them less effective. For fogs yellower is better.

Hi, i work nights so main beam is used alot, i rarley use the fogs but on my old peugeot i had the fogs linked to the main beam so when you flash or use main beam you got all of them on, and the fogs still worked as conventionakl fog lights, the mod was done in the fuse box by a auto electrition friend and i would like to do the same on the audi if it is possible,as for xenon look bulbs can anyone recommend any, i bought some off fleebay the other day but are just as yellow looking as the originals,

Thanks

I have THESE in my main beams and they match my 6300k HID's very well. Note they are 100w, I have had no problems with that, but it's something to be aware of.

I have these NightBreakers in my fogs, I rarely use them in honesty, but they are much brighter than the original ones, no where near as white as my headlights, but as entioned above thats no problem.

I'm glad the grille has come good, I look forward to seeing the pics

Just looked at the bulbs now, do they show white as the bulb colour is blue? I use 100w bulbs now so that's no problem,

Thaks again

Not too sure what you mean? The bulbs have a blue coating, but obviously burn a white colour. When you look into the headlight you can see a blue tinge in the reflector, but I don't see a problem with that personally.

So long as they show white that's fine, some of the bulbs the corsa boys use show a horrible bluey colour, i'll order myself a set and give them a go.
Thanks again,
Matty,

I like the sound of that! Going straight on the list of things to do.

I would run that by an Mot tester personally, if thats important to you.

Matty,

Just to clarify, when the bulbs are on they are white, but when they are off they do give a blue tinge to the headlight. HTH :)

Good point James. You're like the responsible side of my conscience...

:no:___ :eyebrows:

____:think: - "Should I mess around with my lights?"

...and that's Juss there on the other side, lol!

As far as i remember in an mot they only check the full beam works, and only check rear fog for legal stuff having the fogs flash is no different to having spots fitted and even if they did check the front fogs they still work as normal from the fog switch on your dash, my peugeot had at least 2 mot's like this an no problems, as far as i remember the mod is done by simply adding a wire in the fuse box you don't actually touch the lights or their wiring and if botherd about mot simply remove the link wire then replace afterwards, i will be contacting my auto electrician friend soon to see if it is as simple on the audi as it was on the peugeot.
