Gucci (i.e. Gorgeous, Sexy, Fabulous) S3 Seats(AKA S3 Bucket Seats)

Maybe someone should address the language on the thread for a start, consistency springs to mind admin team!!!

Look you all know me, I dont pull punches & I have no issues saying what I have on my mind, but tbh even I am getting fedup reading threads like this & just being ridiculously rude to someone for what reason.

This is the 2nd stupid thread about the same damn thing & tbh its pathetic, the guy on ebay has a right to speak up for himself given what has been said of him & say what he wants as you all seem to have no problem saying & calling him words like cxck & cxnt which is absolutely pathetic & childish, cant you think of more adult words to use from the english dictionary.

If he was actually being one of these 2 words then maybe I could understand but seems as per he has mentioned, jealousy cause the people who want dont want to pay good money for a damn good item, give it a rest ***, its like a stuck record, if you cant afford the 2.5k or there abouts then why give the guy crap for it, he is just reciprocating what he has received in my eyes & I'd say bit more politely than most.

Personally, they cost more than 1.6k for the seats NEW not UPGRADE & also for the whole interior, maybe people should take note of the fact its not just seats & as he rightly says, you go get the whole lot or seats alone for what he's prepared to sell at, then you'd be extremely lucky as Mattandrew may have been, for me I'd pay a very good price for the set tbh, given no one has them for sale & it truly is cheaper than the dealer overall as long as they work fully & no damage.

Maybe some people need to look at reality rather than there own fantasies about buying these things, good luck to you who want who'll be waiting until doomsday to get a set, lol.

If you want a set then stop complaining & step up to the plate & buy some, otherwise give it a rest, its a set of seats ***.

& your point is?

...if I have a point (not sure I do) it is that certain people are getting far too worked up about these stupid chairs. I think they're f***ing expensive. Thats my opinion. If somebody tells me my opinion is wrong then I'm old enough to let it go. If someone tells me over and over again that I'm wrong and they're right, then I get stubborn. Especially over something as subjective as the price of old seats.

If I was a millionaire I'd still rather sit on a milk crate. Some others would gladly give 2500 poond for them. None of my business.

As for the seller, f**k him. He wandered on here uninvited with his expensive chairs and started crying about how his feelings were hurt and how his barrister girlfriend was going to sue everyone for defamation or whatever. Well boo hoo hoo.

*I don't care if this post gets deleted. Unlike some of my other disappeared masterpieces (a-hem!) I'm not particularly proud of this one.

:hi:

The way I read the thread you're you only one getting your knickers in a twist!

Thanks for the entertainment, I couldn't justify upgrading the seats on my new ride & don't plan on looking for those buckets.

At the risk of sounding well out of order would it be prudent to lock this thread??

As pointed out it could be argued it's a little off topic (in a round about way).

Then, I respectfully suggest you misread me  the only thing that twisted my knickers in this whole thread is people telling me I'm wrong and have dog poo for brains because I have an opinion about the value of something. Ex-cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuse me!

I'm always loath to lock a thread when it's obviously a subject still close to people's hearts.

I always prefer it when people come to a conclusion. Whether that's by way of an admission of guilt/responsibility/blame/an apology if it's deemed necessary or by people going away from the thread in question and realising perhaps they handled it wrong and intend to improve the way they deal with their anger/frustrations/jealousy/immaturity.

No one is perfect and anyone who stands up for themselves in their day to day lives can quite easily find themselves locked in a heated argument on a forum purely because of the nature of forums and he inability to convey feelings through spoken word.

When I first started on the forum I got into a fair few stupid arguments about nonsense things. For the most part because I found it hard to explain what I meant fully and people would assume I meant something else. It takes time to learn a better way to say things and it's in threads like these where that learning process takes place.

Other members seem to have either the knack or the will to annoy. I hope others treat them with the disdain they deserve and that way, hopefully, one day they will see the error in their ways and try to be better people.

Maybe we should start a poll to see who has the most twisted underwear.

I seen some on ebay go for £750 if thats any help Paul
Cheers, as i dont have buckets its a its a hypothetical scenario BUT if I did and could sell my factory buckets for 2K -ish and replace them with std S3 seats it would be a no brainer.
The buckets look great but I would be happy to have some decent std chairs to sit on and £1500 in the bank.

When I was looking for a used S3, buckets were never on the `must have` list for me but cars that did have them were commanding wacky premiums of 1-2K even on the used market, so there is no doubt they are pretty sought after.
I just dont see the fascination, .

That would be IYHO & IMHO your opinion is completely wrong on this subject of value of these goods, but as Mitch quite factfully voiced & I wish others would aswell, the cost of the seats is £2500 each from audi, he has the whole damn interior, so how can you call them expensive, wake up & smell whats being shovelled on this & the other pre thread, clearly people dont know costs of such things & need a wake up call.

I don't see the sense in them flat steering wheels either :faint:

FYI, and FWIW, BTW, my opinion may well be totally wrong. But I'm not the only one who thinks this. Anybody else get jumped on? No. Am I getting defensive over something I don't give a flying **** about? Yes. And this worries me more than anything. So I'm out of this one.

P.S I still think the price is retarded.

It's a sad day when I agree with you...

I've actually gone full circle on these seats, yes they are really expensive but come on be honest how many of you have had that thought cross your mind since hearing about them....." well if I did buy them I could always get back min £1,500 when i've finished with them..." most of us spend over a grand on an exhaust so why not on the interior you desire ?!?

I agree Mr Angry got pretty aggressive and a lot of the aggression was aimed at myself but looking back over the threads he did have a right to be at least a little angry just some of his anger was misguided as was some of our members ' tongue in cheek comments'.

Good luck to his sale and the purchaser as long as both are happy with the outcome.

If I could justify them I'd probably do a 'sod it' and buy them but I've spent far too much on this car already, now if they are still there after Xmas I may just swallow my pride and go for it, lets put this one to bed and get Gucci to make do us a group buy !! :)

:banghead: This again?

I dont think anybody is disputing that £2500 is a lot of money for seats (plus interior - he may end up splitting seats from door panels for a sale, who knows?) but its relative to the cost for the items new. Upgrade option prices really dont count as they rarely bear any relevence to buying the parts separately.

I bought the S3 pedals off the guy before all this seat nonsense erupted & I'm happy with the items & price paid.

Why is this topic still going on?? If you want the seats and are happy to pay then buy them. If you think they're too expensive then don't. If you don't even want the seats anyway then why bother discussing it?

Fair play to Mr Angry for putting up with this crap.

BTW 18 months and 21k miles and my seat bolsters are fine

they must be them magic bolsters audi threw out hahaha

I'm going to re-align my point slightly.

I elected not to buy the bucket seats when new for two reasons.

1) I couldn't see a set before placing my order and wondered how impractical they would be for getting free-riders in the back, and

2) When all said and done they're just seats. They don't even have the inflating bolsters like in the RS4, and at the time I had visions of how I'd rather spend the £1600 than on another FACTORY UPGRADE.

Now given I didn't spec the RNS-E either (knowing I would do that myself later on), I guess that either makes me a ****** cheapskate, or just plain poor. However I have almost EVERY other factory fit option on the car, so it was more a judgement of VFM.

Therefore if an S3 buyer has not selected that option at £1600 from new, it seems somewhat unlikely they will fork out £2500 for a set of used / removed / stored / transported about ones.

Maybe for the second hand market buyer who's paid £20k for an S3 and really wants them then it's a fair upgrade, but for me whilst I think they are stunning to look at I just don't think (like the RNS-E), they are quite worth the premium. I'd rather spend the money on performance mods, but that's just my bag.

If they were cheap (and it depends on your perspective of cheap), they would have sold long ago, but fact is we are in a fair recession, and some people may just have alternative priorities to 'Gucci'(?) seats. I have no axe to grind with the seller, I just purely stated a personal viewpoint based on asking price, and both the wife and I have pretty well paid corporate jobs so I am assuming that that means we're just tightwads or at an age where other things seem more important to us.

Thanks for clearing that up for me Staz (obviously I'm a n00b), unfortunately I couldn't find the twisted underwear poll... :crying:

Something similar is what I meant to say :beee:

...but didn't quite manage :p

Well said :applaus:

Anyone else slightly irritated by them being called "Gucci seats" , or am i missing something?

Hmm I guess maybe you haven't heard the expression before. It's a pretty common term in my job. Anything that's a pretty good bit of kit is classed a Gucci. Not sure where it originates from and I in no way have any interest in the products of said brand, but it just illustrates a point sometimes.

Example:

"That's a Gucci laptop that mate!"

must be a southern thing ive never heard of it ??

oh, I interpreted it as a derogatory term - ie over priced for what it is.

Whats your job? Are you a rapper or are you a dealer?!:respekt:

.........I've never heard of the phrase either!!:)

Anyway if this is the case, can I say "those are Primark seats" to anyone with a base model?

Nah, more of a chav thing. ;)

its deffo not northern anyhow ive never heard of it even off chavs , ive heard top ,bad ,wicked , sorted , pucca , the dogs, oh and the best one E ARE etc... lol

To be fair I can see why people would assume that it meant overpriced! Never looked at it that way. It's just always meant that it's the best of the best. I assume that's how it was meant by the OP anyway, especially as he didn't know the cost of them.

I know there rare and because of that he may get that price but i wouldnt pay over 1.500 for them to be honest id rather the rs4 one with the inflatable bolsters when you get the car retrimmed bye bye rs4 logo .......

Haven't been on here for a couple of weeks as I've been max'd out at work. Just read this post from start to finish and not sure what my feelings are about the whole thing. I spec'd the buckets because like every other option, its a good deal cheaper than wishing you had them after the car is built. Unfortunately the fact they are rare on the second hand market escalates the price. I know if I didn't have them I would rather buy some better made aftermarket seats though. Anyway its not important what he is asking for them unless you are buying them! Opinion made.....carry on

Anyone selling any 19" Rockport rims?

Could you expand, I do LOVE them OEM buckets, I prefer the comfort of my cousin's Recaro CS seats, but I'd still buy buckets at £1000-£1500, not £2.5k though

Just saying there are a lot of better seats, like Recaro CS. The problem I have found is the S3 buckets don't wear too well. They are comfortable, but I would imagine for someone who has a bit of a pie fetish they would be hell to get in and out of. For £1500 I would have considered it, but you don't see them for that price often.
