No that's in a Golf cluster. This is an 08 S3 cluster doing its sweep.

It's available on S3 clusters, not sure about yours though. To enable it try looking in the DIS Menu > Set > Indications > Dials (tick/untick).

cheers, had wondered - there are quite a few surface mounted LED's needing changed to get that effect! I see there is a guy on german ebay that does various switches in blue.

Nah not on mine, but I remember some additional adaptations I think for S3, R8 with was it laptimes aswell, that rings a bell, somethings got me thinking, goes to consult the Oracle...............

As for the whole cluster change, the instructions you gave seem complicated but saying that you are changing from the older 8P... would it be just a plug and play swap with some extra coding on a 55plate A3?

Read it again then as it states what to do for pre & facelift cars
 
For 11/04 & onwards cars, subject to checking of course, it should really be just as simple as get the new cluster & take to audi to be swapped coded to the car, cause you should have the new wire already & also the newer pump, again you can check this by looking up the pump part for your vin & also remove the cluster to see if that pin is wired already, simple way to see if the wire on pin 25 is functional, just remove the pin from the 32 connector & reinsert cluster to car & start car & the fuel level shouldnt show, according to my test anyway on newer cluster.

I'm selling one now for KMH funny enough, available from tomorrow as I now have an MPH version, so Mr Influx this would be ideal for you huh mate as your kmh arent you.

Audi charge £600+ for the new cluster.

I of course want alot less & can send to anywhere in world, PM if interested.
 
Diesel, but tbh whats your rev counter go upto at the moment, if its same as my original post with images then I hazard a guess it would work with some petrol cars, only one way to find out & your choice not mine.
 
I dont think it could work, my revs top up at 8k atm so i guess it wouldn`t fit :(

Haha no...Bought them a few months back and just cleaned my room and found them again lol. I wanted S3 clocks but need to speak to nigel see how difficult it will be.
 
oooh, forums up again!

I looked at 2008 clocks on ebay too but I was also concerned that the speedo might be out too over and above the need for mileage & immob needing addressed.

Yeah i can remember us talking about those ones before. Take it was down all day yesterday i thought it was just me lol! I'll have to address all that closer to the day or i could just get standard A3 petrol ones that should be alot easier.
 
Hi chaps, great thread on this mod, I was wondering if 8P0 920 982 J is a straight swap and will work ok on my 06 Diesel Sportback?

J does show as a 160mph diesel from mid 09 so I cant atm see why not & yours has the extra fuel sender wire so should just need fitting, based on I havnt looked at a my10 wiring so much but think its the same.

Yes it can be done there are a few post Sharkperformance has done some " It the price of a secondhand cluster !! Still waiting for one at the right price

I know an Audi master technician who does cluster swaps etc for Golfs, he did my old car for me and he is very knowledgeable when it comes to this stuff. I have sent him a PM about mileage correction for you. He should know whats what. He just plays with clusters to see what mods can be done.

I know it possible to change mileage and pull the SKC on the pre-09 clusters by means other than Audi. I'm not sure if these companies can do the 09 on yet though one in Glasgow said to NHN that they could.

Out of interest, do you know what they would take to do immob compared to Audi?

Was saying to N on Friday, I was suprised that all the extra DIS functions worked without needing to change my rev A network controller etc.
