:sos:Hi people, i have the chance of a pair of 2008 s3 bucket seats for my 2006 sportback tdi but i was wondering if anyone knows if they are plug and play?? as the mkv golf r32 seats have different plugs for the seat airbags than the standard golf seats, could i get harnesses that would allow the seat airbags to work if needed??? or would i have to de-activate them via vag-com
Thanks in advance for any help

1st you sure they're buckets as they dont tend to have airbags on S3 buckets.

& you could chnage the plugs & pins if need be, that isnt the problem.

What makes them Gucci?

N8KOW, I remember reading your thread on DW where you did the Ibis S3, and raving about the buckets then :p

Ok just wasted my night goin to see a set of s3 bucket seats that appear to be out of a vw r32 ???? pretty ****** if you ask me, they looked just like golf gti seats with the r line badge on the head rest not the cs ****** seats they were supposed to be , ohh they did have airbags and different plugs on them i suppose:gun2:

I am the man who has the S3 buckets for sale on Ebay.
They are are straight as you say "plug & play".
I have had tried the drivers one in my 06 S line, with no problems at all.
3 plugs under the seat are all the same.
People say on here that there are no seat airbags in buckets, however all i can say is that there is a plug & the airbag light goes out on the dash.
So they either do have airbags, or they are cleverly wired as not to illuminate airbag warning light.

£2.5k is way too steep, especially when they were only a £1.6k option from factory for a pristine set that haven't had 'other peoples @ss' smeared all over them (particularly given their tendency to wear on the bolster).

That is close to extortion.

That is close to extortion.
Option costs have no relation to costs of parts on the used market.
Metallic paint is only a £495 option.
Go & try to get a white car colour changed to metallic for £495.
I am not here to try & sell my interior, it can sit there until dooms say for
me.
I was merely, politely trying to help someone.
But it appears that this forum is full of hatred.
Probably fuelled by lealousy.

But, if people will pay it...

Mr Angry is clearly a c*nt, but let's face it, if he's not in a rush to sell, why not ask top money, and wait until somebody who REALLY wants them just says sod it and buys them. If I know they sell for £1200 within 10 seconds of posting, I'd be asking a lot more than that!

I have no problem with people asking top dollar for stuff they're selling, only if they get defensive and rude if you question the price.

Also may i add, that it is a full leather interior that i am selling not just a pair of fronts.
I suggest you price all of these parts new at your local Audi main agent, before you as usual add your incompetent remarks.

I'm not lealous. Using your logic, the wheels that you can buy from Audi for a grand, are okay to sell for 1500?

When doomsday comes, and still nobody's bought your seats, would you drop the price then?

:hi:

Sorry to stick up for Mr Agressive, but that's a **** analogy. And I'd know, as I am Mr Analogy.

If you buy an Audi that comes spec'd with 17's as standard, and upgrade to 18's, it'd cost say £300 more. But the wheels would still sell for £1000 odd.

The Audi price is an upgrade, Mr Agressive's sale is not, it's an outright sale.

Still too much :p

I hope nobody thinks I actually care what this chap does with his seats, I really don't. 2 and a half grand is a fortnight in Jamaica to me, not some "nice-looking-but-wear-out-in-5-minutes" car fashion purchase :lazy:

Thank you, & hallelujah. Ive found someone on here who has sense.

Just one point, if my analogy is so s**t, why won't people pay 150% over new price for secondhand RNS-Es? After all, it's an outright sale, not an upgrade :noway:

Maybe because new price for a single front bucket seat is around £2,500, so you're right, people are very unlikely to pay £7,500 for two used seats. Mr Angry is selling 2 of them, and the rest of the interior for the price of 1 new seat. I really don't see a problem with it. If you think they're too expensive, don't buy them.

Supply and demand kiddo.

There are a huge numbre of RNS-E units on the market - from crashed cars, or most of the ones coming in from Europe could well be stolen. They have been fitted to a large number of cars, for many years.

And most RNS-E's are upgrades from the factory, not outright sales...

I do have a "Bucket" fetish...

im sure they were mine

They were indeed :photo:

With a price tag of £2.5k, your right, the devil will probably end up buying them

This forum is fuelled by forum members who think £2.5k for S3 Bucket interior being absolutley ridiculous price :undwech:

Which is why you find they are still for sale. As I said before, if you get £2.5k then fair play to you :icon_thumright:

I really don't care about Mr Angry and his spendy seats. I hope whoever drops the price of a good secondhand car on them is happy with their purchase. I hope they are still happy in 6 months time when the leather on the bolsters is all messed up because Audi are incapable of doing some things properly. Whatever, 2.5k is peanuts, obviously. :puke:

I won't mention the word "stolen" again, because Mr Angry will turn into Mr Touchy, and threaten me with his girlfriend.

I love reading these posts about buckets as it always seems to get dragged back to the 2.5k set on ebay. I for one would seriosly consider them if I had that kind of money spare as I'm sure anyone who really wants a set would. Its actually a good deal considering what you get plus if you only want the fronts you can sell the rest of the bits and recoup some of the costs

There was a point?

Anybody want to buy my 3-year old A3? Only 25000 pounds, well overpriced I know, but still quite a bit less than what it cost new :meeting:

**** man, that's worse than your last analogy. Sort it out!

They're not over priced! Expensive, yes, but not over priced for a full interior WITH buckets. It's actually no more than about 40-50% of their new value, so would you like to apply the same percentages to the new value of your car and see how that comes out?

No, I can't be bothered.

...in fact, don't bother. I'm not interested in how much you want for your car as I'm not going to buy it. Unless you want to buy Mr Angry's seats, I'd suggest you forget about how much he's asking for those too.

I want 7 million, billion grand for it. I am aware it's a bit on the high side but I robbed the car in Eastern Europe and am taking a chance on it making me a fortune without me having to lift a finger. I would buy Mr Angry's seats but a) they won't fit in me new car unless I get another A3 (about 1% chance) and b) I'm not the sort of person to ***** 2.5 on a nice-looking but poorly made interior, to make my flash Golf a bit flasher.*

What's that, a quarter of the value of an average A3? Puh-f***ing-lease.

*No disrespect if you are that person. But you can get 'em cheaper.

Why is this topic still going on?? If you want the seats and are happy to pay then buy them. If you think they're too expensive then don't. If you don't even want the seats anyway then why bother discussing it?

Fair play to Mr Angry for putting up with this crap.

BTW 18 months and 21k miles and my seat bolsters are fine

To be honest, what else can Mr Angry do apart from put up with it? Cry? Go home?

Congratulations to Staz on having a skinnier **** than the people who can wreck their S3 buckets in 5 minutes :hi:

Dunno this thread is about Gucci Bucket Seats? Then it went back to the ebay buckets I guess?

I've already got buckets, so for that reason I'm out!
