Hi, I have a 2002 '51 plate 1.8T Quattro Sport and the headlights are pretty rubbish. Can anyone recommend me some replacement bulbs? I don't have Xenons so just need the uprated bulbs. Please could you also supply a link to where I can order them? I don't want to generate too much heat as I had problems with my last car but just something slightly better for winter.
Are they easy to fit yourself?

Thanks a lot.

Have you considered an aftermarket xenon kit? It's pretty simple to do and if you stick with OEM colour temperatures, it will be a massive improvement over your halogens.

I don't know if they are even Halogens mate I don't think they are on the A3.

Where would I get one of these do you have a site please?
Does this involve changing the whole headlamp or just bulbs?

Ideally, I would like new side, dipped and full bulbs as they are all lame.

Thanks in advance.

I don't recommend aftermarket HID / Xenon kits. You need washer and leveling.. although no law stopping you from fitting or MOT test, plod can make you take them off if they deem to to be a hazzard to other users, usually due to improper fitting or dirt/salt causing the beam to dazzle other drivers.

I'm considering the Phillips XTreme, these get a very good write up, nice white light, up to 80% better than std, don't look chav-ish and totally road legal (55w).

I've visited various Bulb sites and many appear to be wrong as to what you need to buy / fit, ie Autobulbs say I need H4 for dipped and H7 main if I have Fogs lights, or H1 / H7 if not, where as I have H1/H7 and fogs... I know I have H1 as I've taken it out and compared it with other H1, H4 and H7 bulbs.

Other sites seem to not differentiate between pre and post face lift cars, ie 2001 onwards.

I guess it would be nice if someone could clarify the various bulbs you get depending on car, year, spec, etc
