Did any one else know this...

Wiggsy, it can be done on all Audis, but in some cases, it will need to be programmed.

programmed? can only the dealer do this? bit of a pi55 take that it doesnt come ready to go grrrr now i know ive not got it i wont it lol

wiggsy,my 02 S3 has it or rather did before changing the poor casio alarm are you sure your not pressing it long enough as mine was a bit tempermental or the batteries might be on the way out ?

It can lose the settings, mine did for some reason, and had to end up getting it reprogrammed via VAGCOM, if you have a look through the stickies, there is a lis of VAGCOM owners on here, so you might be able to get one of them to sort it for you.

I have a 99 S3 and it doesn't have the ESP switch - i believe this is because the early ones don't have it? Therefore does it have TC if so does this kick in the same way ESP does (have only had the car a few days and haven't had a chance to find out for myself.)

If the TC is also as annoying as the ESP, can it be turned off??

I think some people are mistaking esp for traction control. Traction control on the S3 is pointless, eps is very usefull. Cant turn just traction control off though unfortunately.

Traction control uses the brakes and reduces the throttle to stop the wheels from breaking traction. ESP uses the brakes to stop your car from crashing into a hedge backwards when your talent runs out.

Anyone got the built-in digital compass display in the rearview mirror?

Not something exciting, but the air con automatically goes into to recirc mode if you are in reverse (which also automates the rear wiper if your front wipers are active), or you use the windscreen washer.

apparently holding the door handle up for a while before unlocking de-ices the locks...

i found a sat nav from the previous owner in my secret under seat storage in my a3!

also did you know there is a button on the side piller that de activates the alarm if you have kids in the car!

does the a3 have a under glove box compartment?

it's what it says in my S3 manual. I was looking up the autolock thing and noticed it. does seem a bit odd!

anotherthing some people dont know is before you turn the engine on press the button on the dash and it runs it thorough a check on all the oil levels and coolant and brakes etc you can see this running on the lcd display on the dash

How about fiddling with the climate control so that it displays things like speed and footwell temperature etc?

I'm sure the list of things it can display must be on here somewhere.

and did you know if you press unlock on your keyfob
then you dont open any door for 30 or 40 seconds
it relocks the doors then resets the alarm
