I've finally got my hands on some bucket seats from a 3door S3 for my 2008/58 Sportback but the wiring for the airbags and heated seats are different. Does anyone know the part number i need to convert this??

From a Mate whos bought his salvage back from insurance. £1100 fitted for pair.

Theres a nice pair on ebay for £2500 if you guys are interested :meeting:

LMAO!

The buckets don't have an airbag mate so you don't need to worry about that part.

Were your old seats heated?

...It doesn't sound very "fitted" if you haven't got them wired in...

For this price i would just buy them and put them in my living room in case i couldn`t connect them

We just love buckets so much!!

me three. would really love some buckets :jump:

Staz, apparently they do have airbags on the side according to audi...the side plastic bits pop off to release the airbags. My original seats were heated, finding the correct wiring kit is seeming to be a right pain!

Buckets are the shizzle lads havent stop smiling since i've had them

They are obviously not proper s3 bucket seats.
If they were they would fit straight in no problem.
3 plugs under the plastic flap in the floor.
They are a straight swap one for one.
Should of got your hand in your pocket & bought some proper ones.

According to Audi how? I'm 99% sure they don't have airbags mate. Mine have no 'airbag' badge and I seem to remember when I ordered the car there was a different figure for the total airbags in a car with and without buckets.

I may be wrong though :uhm:

EDIT: S3 seats on the Recaro website:

http://www.recaro.com/index.php?id=3287&region=1&L=2

Doesn't mention an airbag

Well your are 99% sure, im 100%.

Just checked the manual, both in German and English and they both say that with bucket seats there are NO airbags

Cool! That makes life easier then :icon_thumright:

How many wires go to the seats for heating? Shouldn't be too complex to wire them in!

Need it in Greek too? :)

There ya go!

What it says is : During installation, side airbags are disabled

:)

Why so angry Mr Angry? Your not Mr Angry of S3 bucket seat selling fame from our friends at Ebay are you?

Well I'm going with Recaro Sportster CS seats, I have some1 who can get me 30% from Recaro - Every little helps :)

What`s the difference between those and the originals?
Look the same to me.

Except from this hideous white colour!

Never heard so much rubbish in my life. "from a mate who bought car back from insurance" What a load of clap trap. Insurance companys have a policy not to allow insured`s to retain salvage.
Your seats are obviously stolen if you paid £1100 for them.
Sounds like you dont need the heated loom for your seats.
They are so hot they will keep your backside very very warm rain, hail, snow or shine.

No heated element, airbag light will stay on.
Hmm get pulled by VOSA, with airbag light on.
Mobile diagnostics, will tell exactly how long for.
Possible prosecution.
I`d be careful.
Buy a proper set.
There has got to be lots & lots on the market.
God S3`s are so common with buckets aren`t they.

I dont see why you got to be soo moody and point the blame to zeshan. Also accusing him of buying stolen property.
I dont think he has any reason to lie about where he bought the seats from. Insurance company policy is to allow the salvage garage to buy it before they offer the back to the old owner. And then you can buy the car back off the salvage garage.
Only two posts and you seem like a c*ck....Good start at introducing yourself;)

So no heated seats, so what?

I'm fairly sure in the history of modern automobiles someone somewhere will have solved this problem :search:

Possible prosecution.

It's an MOT failure at worst.

Nope. And the seats aren't that common either, hence Nathan hasn't been able to buy any.

You guys really havent realised who Mr Angry is yet have you?! Dont know why, you are taking the bait thats for sure!

Oh god bless, you sound like a really nice church going Christian.
Unfortunately on this occasion, you know absolutely nothing about the subject of Salvage.
Salvage companies pay handsomely to be on an Insurance contract list of Salvage Dealers, ie contracts cost money.
Hence, there is only one way the vehicle is returned to the insured. That is when the claim is kicked out, normally for non disclosure of important information on the original policy form.
So maybe you will think diferently of me now, it is really not Christian like to be so rude to a person you have never met.
I COULD EDUCATE YOU ALL.

Let's play nice gents.

Mr Angry hasn't personally insulted anyone so he doesn't deserve it back.

Mr Angry if you're just here to annoy then please just go away. You've made your feelings clear, the forum members have certainly made theirs clear.

Really ? You must have led a very secluded life if that's the case. I've heard plenty more rubbish in many walks of life. Sounds like you've just climbed out of a coffin. Get out more - there's a whole world out there.
