Remapped S3

just a quick question..what would a remapped s3 do 0-60mph?..oringinally 210bhp but now 265hp..no other mods done.

Yeh about 6 if you're prepared to roast the clutch. Someone got 5.8 i think!

0-60 is a useless bench mark anyway. Its the extra torque the remap gives that makes the most difference. So in-gear times are more representative. Plus the S3 needs 3rd gear for 60mph where most cars do it in 2nd

Wow, i'm supprised too. Mine went at 75k! Well, was slipping in 5th/6th

Hi guys,

I am planning on getting my 2000 180PS A3 Quattro remapped. Does anyone know why mine can be chipped to ~210PS easily but the S3 of the same period can be pumped up to ~260PS ??? Anyone know what the are the reasons for this?

The S3 has a bigger turbo, injectors, fuel pump, MAF etc, where the 180hp car as a K03s.

Anybody know of a good place to get those parts changed so that I can get ~260PS?

Are those the only parts to change (i.e. the only difference with the S3) and will the engine hold up (reliability)?

Would anyone recomend doing this to a 1.8T Quattro or is iot a bad idea? I don't want everything else failing afterwards...

best bet is changing the engine, its a pain in the *** to upgrade to that extent

You're better off just swapping to an S3!!

S3 has twin intercoolers as well as the above mentioned mods.

agree with Ian..... either BT if you want to beat an S3 or just buy an S3 as you'll get far more extra bits that are uneconomical to change on a 1.8TQ

Plus, for another £350 on top of the S3, you've then got an S3 with up to 260bhp!

I had tried looking this up previously but struggled to find an answer, so cheers your replies.

I think it's just gonna be a 210PS remap from Star Peformance up in Scotland (Opinions welcome!!!).

Star Performance are meant to be very good.

used to use star performance years ago when i had an ibiza cupra, good service and pretty knowledgeable.
