The black grill, is finished i am thinking vortex splitter is the next thing on the list, anyone know where i can get one?
I have been watching ebay, like a hawk, but nothing yet.

:hubbahubba:coilovers are going to be on order, next weekend!!

I like it mate! To be honest, unless you change the bumper and grills to say like an s line or s3 front i think thats about as good as your gonna get with the splitter on.

Will look even better with the coilies!

Comin on nicely buddy.

Looks very aggressive i like!!!! :D Good improvement over the chrome grill! Defo get the splitter i'd pm Stoke audi on here see what they can do. What coilovers you going for and how much you dropping her by? Also did you use vinyl?

I used vinyl, it was tricky because i had to heat it up and stretch it but after one failed attempt, i gave it to my mate who does sign writing and knew exactly how to work it.

I had to remove the front grill, and seperate the chrome surround from the black backing.
I also removed the bottom grill, this was the easiest to remove and fit.

It is a very in-expensive mod, it cost me £5 for the vinyl and it cost me nothing to have fitted, if you are thinking of doing it buy pleanty of spare vinyl as it is tricky to apply, but looks great when finished.

As i got the mod from BOYDIE, i would like to thank him for a great cheap mod that makes i massive difference to the look of the car.:respekt:

Im now looking at them in the shop, i am however wondering if i regret buying genuine LM's as i dont have mush money to do much else at the moment!:blink:silly i know, but is LM replicas are as good as i have been hearing i could of saved some cash, for some other mods.:3sadwalk:

Genuine are always better than reps mate. And LM are well worth it!
what other mods you have planned?

A few things in the pipline:

wietek Coil-Overs

Front Splitter

Lamin-nex Front light tints

folding mirror conversions

A few S3 interior mods- steering wheel, vents...

Window Tints- light Smoke(as long as it donst look OTT)

european plates-embossed

and may do a few more, need some more ideas, money permitting.

face lift rear lights

THE LIST COULD GO ON!:jump:

Hi Keith,

About the splitter do you have any pictures, and any ideas on price, including p+p?

Cheers

Tom

Any ideas what you would change or do next are welcome!

Yep.. it's still mint, unpainted, in the box with instructions etc, so I'll dig it down in the next few days and take some pics.

I'll need to take it to get measured and weighed for shipping... will let you know, but about seventy quid will be what I'm asking... -If I can get it shipped nice and sensibly in terms of price, it should be cheaper than buying over in the UK...

Keith

That's great cheers,

Quick question what type of splitter is it? is it a vortex?
look foward to seeing the photo's, that sounds reasonably priced im definatly interested in it let me know when you know cost of P+P.

cheers

Yep, it's a Votex. (Not 'vortex'... I'm not sure if there's an actual front splitter by that name, but -just in case- This is genuine. the official VW/Audi aftermarket parts supplier is 'votex', and this is definitely the genuine Audi article.)

I also have the rear hatch upper spoiler, but it's for a fastback.

Keith

Yeah much better than that **** white grill I saw recently, that really looked horrific

Ah damn it I was hoping for a FAIL, oh well cant have it all

Here's the instructions which I scanned and posted on Fourtitude some time ago... it has the part number right at the start, followed by the installation directions (I think that a number of people got theirs delivered without any instructions, so I scanned the ones which I got and posted them up for all to share)

http://forums.fourtitude.com/zerothread?id=4131221&page=3

It starts with my post about a quarter of the way down the page... Maybe save or print it if you want...

Anyhow, before I dig out the box with the lip in (in factory primer, ready to paint) maybe check to see that this fits your car, since it (for some baffling reason) says 5-door, and I think yours is a 3-door. -I have to say that I'm not aware of any differences in the bumper between three-door and five-door 8P A3's, but best to check, I reckon.

BOYDIE, -can you confirm that the part number is the same as yours?
It's 8P9 071 609 If so, it's the same one so it'll fit slick-A3's car, since your cars have the same front bumper, and you're both driving 3-door 8P1's -right?

I'll dig it out soon. -my 5-year old just had his first day of school this morning, so it's been a mad time getting everything ready. -Hopefully things can calm down a but now, and I can find some time to do the things that I need to get done!

Bad news for me, my van has decided to cost me alot of cash, i have now got to spend the money i saved for my coilovers on my van, as it gets me to work so it gets priority:aggressive:not happy.!
but i have how ever ordered my german style plates!
and my lamin-ex light tints!
so not all bad i just have to, ride with my head in the clouds literally, until i can save to get my CO kit:ermm: oh well.

Cheers mate, there is still alot i want to do over the winter months, money permitting.lol:icon_thumright:

lovely looking car mate!

what spoiler have you got on it?

did you vinyl wrap it, i have just done mine for the second time and in the top corners it keeps peeling off, has yours done this?!

This may seem like a dumb question but why wrap it? Why not just paint it?

i think thats the way im going to go next time! the thing with paint it as it could crack easily and stone chips would be an issue.

i think if i spray mine black, i will put a lot of coats on

Wow mate that looks mint. How easy was it to get the cromed trims off to then black them? what paint did you use. Going to be doin this to mine for sure. Nice!

slick-A3 vinyl wrapped his mate. It's not had to get the chrome surround off. Go on FAQ Wai-Fan done a write up on how to remove the grill and chrome surround of the grill. I sprayed mine this week still need another 5-7 layers though. Here some photos i took to see how it looked back on the car. I've gone for more of a dark grey than black, so it goes with my car.

Tomorrow is the start of my surgery on the A3, tints, induction kit and heat shield and now the grill and badge will turning a shade darker too ;) They say imitation is the finest form of flattery, although mine is on an 8L.
