Decided to have a bash fitting a cupra splitter to my S3 at the weekend.

I am going to spray the bottom centre section of the bumper to match the optics, think the splitter will match better once Ihave done this. Opinions please

I think it looks nice mate, whats not to like about it? will look good if you carry on the diagonal angle of the original bumper when spraying the silver bit

Don't think it needs it mate-although it doesn't look too terrible, it kinda takes away form the front end impact. IMHO...

If I'm honest mate, I'm not sure what to make of it, It doesn't look to bad, prob look a lot better after the spray job on bottom

Do you have any more pics a little higher up and maybe front side view?

I think the splitter goes well and once you sprayed the centre section will look even better! Do you have any photos from distance or side?
Thanks

what about rs6 splitter?? sorry for this huge pic, but here you can see it perfectly.

can't help you, don't know part number, and the price, and for the pics try google, but if it fits, i think it would look nicer than cupra splitter, butt that's just mine opinion.

Dont think the RS6 one looks that special to be honset, that just looks like a multi-fit lip spoiler but admit its a lot better when bolted on a beast of an RS6

As has been said, I don't think it looks bad, it's just not necessary.

Looks fine to me but yeah the silvery bit looks silly now.

Just another opinion for you as this is on the new post list....
Love the look of the front end on the S3 and think the splitter does not look right as it sits back too far from the bumper lip and sides and especially as the center does not match the original.
The RS6 version or any flat type splitter would look better IMHO.

The front end is the best bit of the S3 IMO so doesnt really need anything else IMO.
Not better, not worse. Just a bit different.

Doesn't look right, the lines of the splitter do not flow with the lines of the S3 bumper, it's another one of those mods that just look 'stuck on' and out of place.

The S3 bumper doesn't need to be modded, it looks great in standard form.

TBH Matt, I dont think its neccessary & also it does look bit weird with black splitter, it suited your A3 but S3 it looked better without.

Make sure your certain about this splitter mate. Cause although your right, and spraying the platinum grey part black will look better, decide if having the splitter at all is a good idea.

If you get the front silvery bit done black, are you going to get the back diffuser doen to match? Could look tasty!

Thanks for all you comments, as a lot of you have said it doesent look bad its just is it needed. Once the car is lowered either h&r or coilovers it would have to come off anyway as I cudn't put up the the constant catching. I picked the car up from Nathans this morning (hes been detailing it for the last couple of days and it looks awesome)

I have dropped the car of at my painter chap and hes gona spray the centre section of the bumper black

i think it looks good, will look much better when you spray the centre section!

in at the body shop as we speak

You know my opinion Matt, I'm just tryin to focus on your paintwork just now :)

Picked the car up this morning and it looks stunning, didnt want to drive it outside into the torrential rain :(

As i have said above it will probably be removed as im not 100% it suits it was worth the try.

My painter man was a little busy but i think i will eventually get it done, think it will match the look perfect

Black Centre goes well Matt and i think the splitter looks better now.

The car looks really mean and alot more aggressive with the black rings rather that the chrome/silver ones!

Ashley has said exactly what I was thinking! Looks stunning and the black in the middle is the perfect finish to that sort of styling :hubbahubba:

Thanks for all the comments

Also got a set of rear audi rings sprayed

Just need to get the rear diffuser done to match the rest of the car, before anyone asks the wheels are staying as they are, lol

Yes the all black look is great, Rings on the back look very tidy, just needs the S3 badge doing black now to match, then it will look complete when the rear diffuser is black.

First time poster and getting on a bit late on this thread. Got an S3 Sportback on order. Build date was Monday 31st August so expecting it by the end of the month. Despite everyone's opinions I think it looks a lovely addition and they're relatively cheap (~ 30 quid on ebay?). I'll be looking at putting one on my car when it arrives.

Agree much better without the splitter and must say I think teh balck centre and rings look really good.

Sweet looking ride by the way!

Get it from a Seat Dealer mate its £19.99

I saw Matt's car today at Ed38 and it looks fantastic! The diffuser definitely needs to be black to match the rest of the styling. Hard to tell from the picture above but it needs it for sure.

Nice to meet you by the way mate. Very impressed with the iPod setup :respekt:

That's gotta to be a first for me.... a dealership cheaper than ebay???!

OK OK... what's the catch? Are they going to charge me 50 quid for the mandatory fasteners? Just kidding but thanks for the tip. Haven't looked at the fitting instructions but anyone got a link?
