i have 225/40/18's and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations? i have been looking at toyo T1R and Yokohama Paradas, anyone know if the FALKEN FK-452's are any good?

Think the Goodyear eagle F1's are generally considered to be the best tires about mate

Ahem...think you'll find Yokohama Parada Spec 2's are the better tyres here :p

The Parada's are really good ive had a few sets, just dont expect them to last, i got 8k to 9k ish miles per set. I'm running Michelin Pilot Sport 2's at the minute and and am very happy with them, hopefully i'll get the 15k+ miles out of them the guys over on TT Forum seem to get from them, then the premium in price over the Yoko's will be worth it.

I've had them GSD3's they are good but the Parada's are better

I have the falkens mate had them for nearly 1000 miles and they seem pretty good so far, heard a lot of good reviews about em. got them from camskill for £65 each! Can't grumble at that price!

Have only ever ran gsd3's and toyo t1r's on my s3, after killing the toyos in no time i stuck to what worked well. What price are the paradas?

I recently bought Goodyear Eagle Asymmetrics, wicked tire, voted best performance tire by EVO and Autocar, cant grumble with that.

I think they all have their own characteristics which make them better than the next ones also price and longevity can come into it for some members but some brands keep on popping up so they are the tried and trusted ones.

I keep on hearing about these ZZ3's...I might try them one day.

I had Avon ZZ3's on my 1.8T, they are ok in the dry but horriffic in the wet. I'm currently running Conti Sport Contacts 3's on the S3 and they work well. I run Toyo's on my 205 and they have been excellent so far.

yea i have herd good reviews about the goodyear f1's and yoka's but i need 4 and thats costly. Anyone else had any experience with falken 452's they seem to get good reviews and they are a very good price? :icon_thumright:

The difference in price between the Eagle F1s and Falken 452s is about £30 a tyre not that much when you consider they are what hold you on the road. Thats one of the great things about the Goodyears they arent silly money but win most of the tyre tests they enter. The 452 are a good tyre but they are are still only from a budget tyre company and not a premium brand like Goodyear, Continental, Pirelli etc.

No got some ZZ3`s last month run them on my Dads St my wifes Golf tdi and my S3 they wear well handle well and look chunky on the rim. Hated the look of the Toyos I had on they looked stretched for the same size of tyre

I run Falken ZE-912's, nice quiet tyre, I did consider others but the price of them was way out of my budget. I think they are worth the £250 i paid, considering stuff like federal and marangoni are £200 a set.

I thought i would try the 452s as they're a bit cheaper. Only had them on for less than 1000 miles but once scrubbed in seem a really good tyre. Only downside is the road noise is more than my last set (Toyo T1Rs). The toyos were a great tyre i thought, loads of grip but just went a bit off towards the end of their life. Had 2 sets of Eagle F1s before this the last set of which i thought were shocking (made in China), mishaped and thought i had wheel bearing issues, not to mention the antics in the wet (like on ice skates) - genuine F1s as well before anyone asks.

So far i'd recommend the Falkens but can't comment long term, or on wear rate (seem a relatively sticky compound).
