The FBMFSW is too thin. Boo!

So, a potential easy fix is a TT RS steering wheel mod. Anyone done this on their 8P yet?

If not, I presume this can be done. Anyone got the part number? I wonder if you can re-use the existing air bag module?

:beerchug:

that wheel isnt particular to the tt-rs - the same one was used on the s-line tt, i have a dsg one fitted to my a3 tdi and it cost me about £450 from ebay.de complete with airbag.

the stitching is available in a variety of colours with the black leather - mines got i light grey interior so i got the silver stitching which matches well.

I think some of you ight be missing the point...that is not a std flat bottomed wheel. much wider across the base and deeper thumb holds..

The base looks the same as mine. It has the perforated leather though which is very nice.

This is the one i brought of e-bay which is std TT

The flat portion is narrower than the one in his picture

I think its the lines on the wheel playing tricks with your eyes. If you compare the two pics the only difference is the thumb slots are different depths. They look the same to me at the bottom:yes:

the steering wheel in the TTRS is different.. size wise is the same but the actual wheel is thicker.. and where the thumb indents are its more moulded for your thumbs.. absolutely amazing feel.. but not worth upgrading to if you already have FBSW.. just my opinion..

Yeah, but its a bit pants when the wheel on my wife's GTI feels nicer. The FBMFSW is great to look at, though. I'll probably get used to it I guess.

I have the RS6 steering installed in my A3 SB. This should be the same as the TTRS

Cool. Do you think it's possible to reuse the airbag and badging from an S3 FBMFSW?

Badging swap is a easy fix. As for the airbag, best to double check though it looks the same to me when I swap the RS6 airbag for the TTS airbags.

It looks the same but different part number, is it slightly bigger mate, can you do me a few favours please, 1st measure the airbag side to side & the center ring diameter & 2nd any chance you can undo the airbag bolts & check part number on back.

Did your RS6 wheel come with airbag or did you buy seperately.

Thanks.

The TTRS wheel is chunkier, I fitted one to a B7 RS4 (manual), went for the TTRS wheel as it is a manual car as well, no Paddles.

Yeah thats what I discovered other day to Craig, didnt know was manual only, so that wheels of the cards, so rs6 wheel hunt begins, might just buy the damn wheel from audi & then find an airbag, as selling old one might be enough to get new wheel without airbag, we'll see, but its a want thats for sure.

Yeah, timescales for delivery mate & atm I'm in italy, can you courier to me please?

For me its perfect as mines brand new anyway, so can sell mine, does that one have the chrome paddles aswell as I'm dsg, is there a choice of perforated & stitching colour, any images of the wheel you can get?

It can be sent anywhere at a cost, but not included in the £600

They take a week to arrive usually to me.

I'll check with my supplier tonight that I can get some....

See attached pic, the RS6 wheel is perforated with paddles, they are the only options.

So as long as they're brand new & no deformities in the airbag plastics & wheel etc are 100% functioning then yeah why not.

Just let me know mate as I'll have one short of turbo blowing again, lol.

Group Buy possibility Craig????

Thanks.

OK, as long as thicker rs6 wheel with chrome paddles, perforated new with airbag & internal loom then count me in 100%, take my word for it, any chance you have a landline number as in Italy atm & mobiles cost a small fortune where as landlines are free mate.

The wheels are exactly the same as the picture I have posted, they do not come with a harness (AFAIK). I have never held one in my hand so I cannot guarantee the chunkiness or feel of them. That's all i can say really, so I will with draw my offer to supply them as it's too much like hard work.

To much like hard work, come on craig, just checking that I'm not paying for an identical wheel that I already have as it would be a worthless exercise dont you agree.

As long as its an actual RS6 fbmfsw & not the the smaller TT/8P wheel then I would like one, but if you cant guarantee it being actually the RS6 wheel then fair enough, now thats not hard work is it, afterall would you buy something on basis it was say sold as an rns & then you receive a concert 3.

If you can supply the proper RS6 wheel then count me in, if not then no worries.

But I have stated it's an RS6 wheel and even posted a picture, why would I try to deceive anyone?

I was trying to be helpful and source a product at no profit to myself to members of the forum that said they were trying to find one for themselves.

No one said you were did they or did I miss something here.

I was just clarifying 100% that the said wheel had all the options I was after, so there's no problem later with you or me saying it did or didnt have this included, that is fairly common practise when buying a product of another person craig, cant see that being an issue here.

So you still up for selling them, if not then no worries, if are then count me in, assume collection & cash is ok as I can get Matt or Nate to collect mine for beer tokens as they're near you, I'm sure they wouldnt mind.
