Getting exterior mirrors to tilt (dip) when in reverse

Question:

I don't have VAGCOM to check this, but does anyone know if I was to go and pay a specialist to adjust a setting in VAGCOM, can they recode my EXTERNAL mirrors to tilt downwards (dipping I guess) when I engage reverse gear.

As the A3 is so high sided it is hard to see how close your wheels are to the kerb, and I am working somewhere where you park in individual bayed spaces which are surrounded on both sides by high kerbs. I don't want to kerb the new rims just yet!!

I have the heated / folding / dimming exterior mirrors for the record (don't know if that effects what functionality they have).

Also I need to get my speech recognition sorted as my car cannot understand any of my voice commands at present, and I have a VERY plain (non dialect) UK accent. Before fitting the RNS_E no issues at all, so can only assume the settings have changed and I've not compensated for them!

Note to self, must save up and buy VAGCOM

yeh im defo interested in this too... would be helpful as i always try to get as close as possible to kerb.. consiquently havin to manually dip mirror every time.. Really annoying when forget to change it back, get iin your car next time go to use mirror and its facing the road

That's it, I'm going to buy VAG com next month. Was going to get my windows tinted, but it can wait. Thanks for the tip above, be interesting to see if it works.

It doesn't work. You need memory seats... I did the coding and nothing happens.

I was trying this yesterday actually

If you tell the CAN that you have memory seats it just throws up a DTC that it can't talk to them.

Doesn't work sorry.

Did yesterday a scan on Mk5 GTI wich has this option (tilt when reverse) and has NO memory seats (double checked).
The only thing that he's got is folding mirrors and memory seats checked in coding...
Whould be interesting to see if someone with folding mirrors to do the coding on 8P.

The MK5 has this feature, the 8P the premium brand (yeah fecking right) doesnt have this, also the MK5 has the led under mirror feature which I'm modding on my 8P
