Audis in the Park! Sunday 9th August 2009

i wish i could be there. had to work weekend:(

I had an excellent day yesterday and just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone involved in the organisation of the event.

I think I speak for a majority of the people there when I say it was a definite triumph, not only for ASN (best club wooop wooop) but the organisation was second to none.

Nice to meet some new faces, catch up with friends, see some awesome cars and eat some good BBQ food.

Roll on Audis In The Park 2010.

hi all, jus got back from kettering and can i say wot an awesome weekend it was, that was my first show ive been to and all credit to everyone involved!!!

big thanks to Rob and his mrs and Mark and Stace for setting up and making it feel so relaxed and social, i really enjoyed myself this weekend and ive got so many pics to prove it:)

many thanks to colin(CMD) and dave(docurley) for the advice about my brakes, somehow travelling home and having a little play with a few things they seem to have come to life which is good, thanks to mave(colins mrs) for looking after my mrs as the men were chatting like girls lol

roll on next year for the next Audi in the park!!

p.s colin as we said last night we have to get summing together with ASN to do a trip to the ring, now that will be a good weekend

I got back last night at 11PM as we stopped off in Birmingham for a game of mini golf and a curry. :yum: Big thanks to everyone involved, myself and Gem had a wonderful time - we'll see you at Audis in the Park 2010 (or maybe sooner!)

p.s colin as we said last night we have to get summing together with ASN to do a trip to the ring, now that will be a good weekend

I would definitely be up for this.

Well after reading all the many feedbacks from ASN members who made the event i can only say that this could be the start of great thing's to come. Yes the weather is a major factor when it come's to open air event's but this event proved that it can be done .(Build it and they will come)
as they say in the film. I would also like to agree with many many other ASN members that regards to how well the event was put together, surely ASN is now more than just a forum, and should now become a Club: But we all must remember and take on board that it will take all our support and effort longterm.
As stated by S4twiggy that the ladies also enjoyed the event and were pleased to meet all the members and there partners. Roll on Castle Combe in October....We will definately there and will help in any way we can....

if you guys want i can research all the stuff we need to know about a trip to the ring! if we can sort it then we will try and make it a club thing and try and get as many as we can over there, this will also boost the profile of ASN as not only a forum but a CLUB which i think is where we want to go. not only will we have an awesome weekend but it will give us a chance to expeience AUDI in all its purest form and grow as a family of members to ASN.

a year is a long time when you say it but as most of you know 12months soon comes rolling around fast so ill be the first in saying that im up for a trip over to germany(mmmmmm autobahn's  and the famous track)

by all means though if someone else wants to sort it out then its cool, jus thought id lend a helping hand to the already busy mark, stace and rob and his mrs.

lets get this trip rolling guys!!!!

Grant, this sounds like a good idea mate, Well done. If you want to look some details up and we can go from there.

I agree whole heartedly about trying to boost our presence as a club as we have 18000 members so i am sure we can push to get more of them interested and more active by maybe offering a bit more somehow.

I am off to the ring with a few others in October, the more the merrier I say:thumbsup:

Its a toss up what to go in, the Audi or the cossie .
Mind you, either one I will have a few spare seats for passengers if anyone is interested.

I wouldn't mind tagging along....either in my car or even as a passenger...

Well what can I say?
This was my first 'meet' and it was great. Good to put faces to names and see the quality machinery on display. The food ws good as well and I cant wait till the next one.
Oh and thanks for allowing me to park up guys even though I didn't put my name down as I didnt know what to expect, but I'm definately coming to the next AitP and will put my name down.
See you in October.
Cheers
T

October is a bit to soon for me,we still have castle combe we may be able to have a chat about going over there in 2010.
I have a brother in law living out there and he told me of some weekend offer's on hotels/camping ..Make a weekend of it ..I think we can save £££££ if we book the ferry in advance...But i'm up for it 2010..

Sorry i couldn't make it this time guys. Would have loved to have gone, but had too many other commitments, however i have earmarked the calender for next year and all being well should be there, (plus my toy should be where i am wanting it be (power wise too):) Looks like you all had a really great time and the weather to go with it. Couldn't ask for more.

ill look up some details soon and post them up, stace i dont want to step on your toes on this ring trip so if you want to cover it then by all means, if you need anything done though just give me a holla ok, think we should get the trip going on in the summer of 2010 and as colin(CMD) has a brother in law over in germany hopefully he can come up with some advice!! look forward to seeing you all again and roll on october 10th for Audi driver international.

p.s mark it was the brain storming of colin mate about the ring so the thanks should go to him:thumbsup:

Thanks guys for a geat day at the park on sunday we really enjoyed it ,so many tasty cars ,great friendly atmosphere, great weather and most of all great to meet some of you and have a natter with fellow petrolheads that are passionate about their audis.Calvin deserved his cruise around in that gorgeous R8 I got to sit in it and give the engine a good rev and just that made me grin like a cheshire bleeding cat ,its some car if only those lottery numbers would come up lol.I agree with you guys my car is crying out for those 4 inch Miltek pipes ,guess i'm gonna have to keep saving.Loved those Merc wheels on the A4 thought they looked great.Although we took a pic nic the bbq smelt great and thought ASN had really done a great job, once again thanks and to Calvin and the drivebyshooters count me in next year.

Twiggy, It has been something we have been thinking of for a long time and to add ASN to it is a bonus so no toes squished :) Ill put up some details soon and maybe convay with CMD to ensure we are getting a good price :)

However...................I have been speaking to Wicksteed Park this afternoon and have ALREADY booked it for next year!...and thats no BS!

If AITP2 is gonna be Bigger, Better and Stronger in 2010 i need as much time as possible!

Watch this space guys!:eyebrows:

Hi Grant and all: Ived just been looking at some packages for next year via the web: just throwing this quick link out so we can all have a price guide ect:
http://www.nurburgringuk.com/extras.php#1

Have a read and see what you's think.....but there is loads out there doing packages...this is just one as a guide...

£229 is good, includes ferry crossings and a hotel for the weekend so i think its value for money.

The more the merrier!!! will be no doubt be cheaper if group booking...so bargain....been looking at ferry crossings at its looking like £60 plus return per car....then hotels also at 60 plus euro per night...all adds up.....

You can camp though if you want to.

However, once you factor in the fuel cost, and lap tickets, insurance, general wear and tear you'll be spending over £500 on the trip.

BUT, we've all wanted to do this haven't we? Start saving now. £10-20 per week will break the back of it...

Imagine the photos of all our cars lined up ready to go. Hopefully none, being pulled out of armco though !

Had a great time at the show, excellent weather an plenty of decent motors. The campsite could've be better, wisksteed maintenance/general upkeep of facilities we used was lacking, normally have a stong stomock for it, but I nearly threw my guts up in a couple of those porta loo's :puke:. Noticed some areas of the campsite were sectioned off for other groups. If we could get similar for ASN next year, would be a little more social, we got spread about a bit the field on Saturday/night.

Special thanks to Calvin (put me down for next one), Mark (thanks again for help), Stacie (excellent cuppa) an rest of ASN crew sorting the stand out.

Hi all i can't remember those who were standing around my car when i was playing a cd of sweet, sweet BLUE GRASS music at AITP, please let me know if you would like a mix cd of this high end music/lyrics ...If you are venturing into this sweet music blend i would recommend that you start of with sweet country music until your taste develops and then you can let rip and dive straight in to the sweet Blue Grass, i saw your heads nodding like the Churchill Dog as i turned up the volumn..So don't hold back toe tappers pm if you are a bit shy to ask ..

Errrr, no thanks mate.:haha:
We were bobbing our heads to the Faith Evans pumping out of RazA4's car.
But thanks for the offer anyway dude.

LMAO that blue grass stuff is an aqquired taste mate lol not to my taste but i can see how you can chill on a beach on a hot day wit the mrs an a pick nick and relax to it:happy:

p.s if anyone wants a mixtape of some Tupac give me a holla LMAO

Thanks Xmay4444
Twig you need a decent Sub and amp my man,

Hello everyone i feel i need to make an apology to everyone i didn't get to speak to. Due to me having my head up my **** soting stuff out, it appears i didnt get to spend as much time as i should have with the regulars and the new guys.

It was my first time sorting an event like this out and i have learnt a lot, so hopefully next time i can enjoy the cars and car talk properly, lol

I barley took any pictures either tbh, i wianted to make sure i had a picture of everyone that showed up as a record. I am sure we blitzed our previous best of 30 cars at a single meet tho, so thanks again everyone for your patience. Lets do it again !!

You did a quality job so no complaints from my end at all. You looked very stressed when the Birmingham/Midlands lot arrived...... I thought the gazeebo was going to finish you off :)

It was a stirling effort though, I did count the cars and there was over 30 for sure, cant remember the exact amount but it was a lot :)

Roll on next year :icon_thumright:

Tom

Thanks Xmay4444
