Hi Again

Anotherbit of help needed, I bought an S3Bumper for the front end conversion on her 2.0 TDI sport.

The bumper is perfect, has all the grills and fogs etc

But my question is 2 fold. Firstly the bumber vents/mesh where the fog lights are housed. Well on drivers side it has a blanking plate so if you look through the mesh from the front you cannot see through it because of the blanking place that clips into it. but on the passengers side the blanking plate is not there even though there is a hole for it. I called Audi and the guy told me that one side should not have one due to it being a place for air to get into to cool the car. Is this correct?

Question 2 - Her car does not have headlamp washers on it, but the S3 bumper has all the hoses and headlamp washers built in, So can it be hooked up to work on her TDI or do we just take the hoses off?

Thanks again
Luvie

Q1 - pass lol

Q2 - Your choice really, if you wanna fork out hundreds for xenon lights so that you have use of the washer jets then go ahead, but you dont need them for the lights you have now, so if i was you id take the pipes off..

yes, Audi guy is right - the fog light grills come in 2 parts, a back trim and the mesh that goes over it, the N/S has hole in it & OS is solid.

the hoses can be used on your existing lights, you need an extra pump in your washer bottle that will mean either buying the matching bottle or cutting a hole in yours to take it (there are marks on where it should be cut). You would then need to add some wiring to make it activate when you hold washers on.

If it sounds like too much work I'd be interested in the pipes & jets as i have just the caps on my s3 bumper with nothing behind them..

1. there is another small rad in that area which is why it has the mesh grill not the blank, so has to get air in that side.

2. Your choice, you would need to add as K says another pump onto existing, more wires & coding etc to make them work

But also you need even without this system to trim your front reinforcement bar on the botton left/right corners to go round the S3 bumper, dont buy new for S3 just trim as does same job, hacksaw or grinder takes that of in 2 minutes.

& curiously, what gives with the username "Luvie" lmfao, sorry had to ask, lol

Kufatec do the wiring harness here although not done it myself yet!

If you do do it, it will be interesting to see how you get on

LOL... Far Far from Gay

My Surname is " Love " so it is a nickname of many years.

Hence I am giving the MRS an old private number I have

" A3 LUV "

Yeah putting it up to the bodyshop next week for bumper fittment.

But to get the hoses to work seems like to much hassle...

I will take a picture of the hoses etc etc

Thanks all for the HELP my darlings!!!

You think its worth giving it a Go????

In essence I don't think it would be too difficult, you have the bumper and pipes, thats probably the main thing cost wise. The Kufatec wiring will come with instructions and from what I've done so far with my car it will probably be plug and play the same. A bit of VDS trickery and it'll be sorted.

I'd do it if a bumper came my way, next stop then would be Xenons

Nigel (NHN) is a top bloke and I'm sure he'll give you futher advice if you need to ask him.

We got the bumper, all the grills, badges and fogs, headlamp washers, all the pipes etc etc for £400 delivered, that a good deal?

by the time you start adding all the bits up that could be ok. Is the bumper in good condition?

Yes it is in very good condition, scuffs underneath, but apart from that spot on indeed. It is a slightly different colour so obviously getting it painted.

Where in Scotland are you?

That would be mighty fine if you did, and any other parts required for it.

I have to say it's the MRS's car, I own one of these Fancy 18 Speed Raleigh's!!

something like this I belive:

http://cgi.ebay.de/Wischwasserbehae...ehör?hash=item4ce83bc560&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

they would probably deliver to Scotland (not sure about the highlands though LOL)

Yeap thats the one I found aswell mate.

I've seen those sheep driving tractors! Totally useless at it!

I have a mental picture, lol, swear seen it before on tv sketch, lmfao

They are no worse than the wife!!!

What else do I need If I buy that washer bottle?

And any chance of a quick lesson in German!

Its a genetic thing, woman & roads dont go hand in hand, women & bags, shoes & credit cards do though, lol, luckily enough mine doesnt, result, lol.

Well need wiring aswell, coding with vagcom, some more piping I would guess from the water pump to the washer system on bumper.
