Hi,

I'm going to look at an S3 tomorrow :)

Spec is as follows:
Sprint Blue
Bose
Ipod connection
Armrest
Cruise Control
Flat Tyre Warning
GSM Mobile Phone Prep
Rear Parking System
FBMFSW

The car has 29k miles and is up for £20,995 at Milton Keynes Audi (formally Wayside)

What do you guys think about the price? It seems fairly competitive to me.

Mine didnt have bose/cruise or flat tyre warning, had 16700 miles, same colour and more other options and bought from a private dealer for £18500 or there abouts

The one I'm looking at in March 07.

That sounds like a very good price.

I'd try and get the price down a bit seems a bit too much considering the miles. There quite a few S3 you can get for that price with less than 20,000 miles. Sprint Blue lovely colour mind!

Sprint Blue - cost £490 to buy new.... cost the least 2nd hand! :( but still a lovely colour and exclusive to the S3 club :)

Thanks guys, I'll keep you posted on what happens.

If I were you I'd look for similar aged/mileage S3s on autotrader and then print out the prices to haggle with.

That's some really good specs! Similar to mine.

Nice colour, miles do appear a little high, sure there willl be some movement in the price although prices have increased again over recent months. Spoke to a car dealer the other day he said car prices have increased every month for the last 6, relatively unheard of he said.

Mark

For that price see if the salesman will throw in a 3.2 lump and a DSG box ?

Excuse me while i run for cover

I have been watching the prices since end of last year and they pretty much bottomed in Feb. They have been steadly climbing since and according to forecourt prices I have just had 9 months of depreciation free motoring. However, the books disagree and are putting 07/57 plates on 20k at £18K.

I personally feel this is over priced, especially with the mileage; but as has been said there is definately room for negotiation in there. I think that £19k > £19.5k would be a fairer price. I wouldn't listen to any flannel if they start quoting the high spec either.

Having you been looking on PH? In any event good luck.

Well that was a complete waste of time and a wasted 3 hour round trip journey for me.

When I got to the dealer I had to wait for half an hour even though we agred to meet at 1030. Eventually when he came to see me I found out that the car was in bits in the garage so I could not even test drive it!:banghead:

I will not be using MK Audi to buy my S3! The search continues....

Try Bedford Audi mate. GREAT customer service.

or Huntingdon Audi. They are part of the same Group (Vindis) and again give great customer service. Huntingdon have always given me a slightly better deal than Bedford have offered but they may be because I've been dealing with them with many years and have purchased all 7 of my A3s from them.

Thanks I did have a look at that one but am not very keen on the Alcantara interior.

I bought my S3 from there - a good price 58 plate. Their sales approach was good so look forward to using them for it's first service!!

My Facelift 58 plate will be up for sale soon mate, or is that too new?

I'll give Bedford Audi a call. They don't seem to have any S3s available according to the Audi Used Car Locator at the moment but hopefully they might be able to help source and find me one.

I've got Bury St Edmunds Audi, Cambridge Audi and Huntingdon Audi on the case as well :)

To all those that said go to Bedford Audi............. Thank you! ;)

I put a deposit down on an S3 :)

The sales service was superb. They went out of their way to help me out and sourced this S3 from another dealer for me:

57 Plate Silver S3
DVD NAV with TV/TEXT
Cruise
Bose
Auto headlights/washers
Auto dimming rear view mirror/wing mirrors
Auto Folding wing mirrors
Bucket seats
Rear Parking sensors
Reversible boot mat
FBMFSW

Awesome mate

The only thing missing there is phone prep but that's a relatively easy retrofit.

Thanks for the comments.

I should be able to pick her up next week. I may leave it a little longer if I can resist though as my Company Car is not due to go back until next month.

I will make sure I post a load of pics up when I pic her up.

Yes loads of pictures would be nice :) That would be good, but do you think you can hold out that long? lol

Great to hear a branch of Vindis Group again giving good service. I've used one or other of their branches since 1976 when I bought my first Golf and they have always been very good.

When you hear the way some dealers behave it's nice to know that some can still do it properly.

Enjoy your new S3.

The VW dealership in Bedford is also Vindis and they're very different from Audi. Everytime I have been in there I am left standing for ages, answers to any questions are very reserved and if I ask for a test drive they look at me like I'm a criminal.

I once asked for a test drive in an R32 and they basically said no!

Yes I do think the Audi side of Vindis is now generally a bit better than the VW side. My wife has driven a Polo for a number of years and used to use the Vindis VW branch at St.Ives. When a certain service manager was there they were very good. But when he left and went to be the General Manager of one of their Skoda dealers they went downhill very fast. So much so that Jenny took her Polo to Bedford even though she worked in St Ives at the time. Certainly on the service side Bedford have been very good and their Service Manager is a great chap and knows how to get the best out of his staff. He even offered to lend me his brand new Scirocco for a day if I was interested.

Jenny recently bought a new Polo and whilst the Sales side were OK they were not as good as the Service people. They did do a full dealer search to find the model and colour she wanted but it took some effort to get a good deal out of them.

I've dealt with various people at Bedford Audi and they have always been OK but the chap I deal with at Huntingdon has always come up with a better discount on the new car and a better trade-in price on my existing A3. Mind you I have been dealing with him for 11 years and all my A3s have been bought from him. He also happens to be the nephew of the current owners Nigel and Garry Vindis.
