The people who do car key breaks arent your average drug addict burglar though. They're not interested in small stuff they can sell on quickly, they want the car for a purpose and mean business.

Part of my reasoning for keeping the keys upstairs or hidden.

It prevents the opportunist burglar from having your car away.

Obviously not the nasty fcukers who have targetted your car and WILL take it in any event, and using whatever means necessary.

Even if that means car jacking, which all of the alarms and guard dogs in the words wont protect you against.
So aside from carrying a gun, the harsh reality is that these poeple will take you car from you if they want it. Fact.

And until we have proper punishment and deterents in this country, this will never change, except to get worse.........but thats another debate and wont help the OP.

You may have to excuse my comments as ive probably seen 100 times more than most quite frankly , so i have very strong concerns over this growing trade we have to put up with.

10 Blazin i totally understand ive been under the hammer over sports car since 17years old now 30years old ,, mentally as well as other things it will have a mental effect.

I know your probably the soundest guy but with what we know,, frustration plays a key element in our aggressive sounding attitude on this topic.

Apologies to anyone i might of come across over zealous but i have my reasons.

Where should i start????? 9 mates killed last 5 years???
Gun to my head 6 times???
Sat with my mate where he had his car took off him and had to sign his log book over???
Sat at my mates house where 3 guys came round and completely robbed everything including the kitchen sink, where we sat there and helpless watched???
3 mountain Bikes took off me at knife point, one of which took me 3 years to save up for ???
2 Coats took off me at knife point, 1 of which i had on 4hrs christmas day?? Or was it the time had my coat and money took off me waiting for a taxi where 20 lads jumped on my head for around 5 mins,, put me on life support in hospital for 2 weeks???

The list goes on and on and on but just trying to show people the life ive had to put up with and trust me the police did nothing .. You have to understand how it works,, you have to sort it out yourself... Nothing clever about it but thats how it is?

So hope ive not upset anyone on here but boy does this taking Keys from your house get my back up..

wow manc guys have something in common ive lost 3 mates , gun at my head mate shot , seen stabbings shootings seen someone drowned ,have post truamatic stress syndrome from the armed robbery and shooting of my mate ... great manchester aint it ....dump made me get psychosis

I fully understand that there are frustrations felt in situations like this. I myself hold views on how I would react in a given situation. I am lucky enough to live in a quiet road and most of the time my car is parked in a secure camp with an armed guard.

That's not the point though. On a public forum such as this we should not let our frustrations get the better of our judgement and, whatever our feelings, we should not be condoning or promoting acts of violence.

The law is clear on this subject: you cannot attack a man for being in your house and you can only use self defence. Whether or not you agree with the law in this case is irrelevant, when making a post on here you can't advocate breaking the law. We have made it clear a number of times on ASN that it's not acceptable.

It stops or the thread is closed.

but to solve the problem make it a stolen car sticky a lookout thread no thaughts or opinions allowed i mean there the same all the same ..

so these threads are pointless it not like someone died and were giving condolances , people are gonna get vexed it stirs up emotions .... so i think the answer should be a lookout thread and people should ONLY post stolen cars , because every time these threads arise the same answers are gonna come ....

10 Blazin no worries fellow , how i wish i was bought up somewhere rural(which obviously has its trouble but im not talking the local bus stop put threw on the front page of the local rag) , Maybe a cleaner mental bill health well lets say definately a better one??

Maybe i would of been able to concentrate at them schools without a worry in the world, not just a worry over something like being scared of my exams ,Instead of having to avoid a lad who hangs around with one of the most ruthless gangs out of school who has been coming to school everyday to stab me to death because , I went out with a girl who he had gone out with years ago,, Yeah use to love going out the back gate at school to walk home,,, taking a extra 30 mins and telling my mum i hate school , when i really loved it so i could stay off... these was not poeple you go to police to tell or they would and will petrol bomb your house with whoever in it.. organised criminals.

Some people have no idea WHICH IS NO FAULT OF THERE OWN, I only wish i had the same thought process??

Listen im after no sympathy votes whatsoever ,, im only saying people are entitled to there own opinions on this matter Right or Wrong.

I live close to manchester and i have to say ive never had my car stolen, or motorcycles. I know quite alot about locksmithing personally and security but i know of alot of tools that can easily open audi/vw/skoda/porsche locks which is quite worrying to me.

It certainly does yes. In the same way as freedom of speech applies to everyday life. You wouldn't go around telling the police you intend to break the law though would you? Some things just shouldn't be said openly.

I've not said I'm going to break the law.. But what i will say is, i'll protect my property by what ever means i see fit.

BTW, I have read that article before.. 'Tenpenceshort' is his user name on a Honda forum.
