Guys, just to let you all know to be careful and keep your house secure etc.

My Car was stolen whilst I was sleeping last night, thieving idiots got in through small window in conservatory and took the keys. Awoke in the morning to find a blank space where my car should have been....

So if someone offers you a cheapish Sprint Blue 2009 S3 call the coppers...

Stolen from East kent and was tracked going through medway dartford crossing area around 2am this morning, so by the time I reported it.. it was long gone!

Seriously gutted as it took my years to be able to afford the car....

Gutted is not the word. That seems more than coincidental and I wonder if they have been keeping tabs on your house - twats. Glad you and your's are all ok though.

As for being tracked, do you mean that it was caught on ANPR or was fitted with Tracker?

Hopefully your insurance company will see you right on this - fingers crossed.

Gutted for you mate. These idiots should be strung by their privates and left to rot, but do doubt will get a few weeks in nick if ever caught :( Hope the insurance sorts you out mate, good luck.

First of all really sorry to hear this mate. Gutted for you. But glad to hear no one was hurt though. Hopefully your insurance company will be able to sort this all out without too much hassle. Once again sorry to hear this.

Its a common theme days, gutted for you

Will look out for parts of it on Ebay :angrymod:

I am gutted about that mate, there really are some idiots out there.

Keep an eye out on ebay and i hope that your insurance is ok and sorts this.

same happened to me whilst i was in bed its a strange feeling getting round that youve been burgled and your cars gone ....gutted for you pal

Most of us would always give a S3 a second glance so anything we should look out for...dealership name on the numberplate surround etc...Stickers maybe ??
Really sorry mate.

Sorry to hear this mate. Little &%$£" *£*?+£ (|$#~ gits.

Cheers guys for the messages.... It was spotted on ANPR but they had obviosly had a fair amount of time to probably anywhere in the country in an S3 - So no doubt i'll have to fight off fines from the DVLA etc...

Car had Bury St Edmunds number plate surrounds, tinted windows but other than that it would be the same as any other S3

Its kind of put me off having a nice car like this a little.... obviously my house will not have CCTV and Alarm etc, but you hear of this kind of thing all too often.

Not really sure what happens with regard to insurance, the car is on PCP, I also have GAP insurance... not even sure if I should call Audi Finance and let them know.

any ideas?

I had Abraxas gap insurance and the first on the list of exclusions
1.If the insured vehicle is stolen by any person who has access to the keys of the insured vehicle.

hope this isn't the case for you

Chin up mate, lets hope the insurance companies support you.

Its a nice thought to hope these vermin come to some terminal harm and torment.

But they wont, they will continue through life on cycle of crime, making peoples lives miserable, laughing at the courts, and milking the taxpayer during their short and frequent excursions to jail.
10B justice needed.

Anyway, Good luck

Paul

get a crime number off the police tell audi finance also gap is nothing to do with audi , you need to phone them and get some forms sent out its one painfull painfull process i feel sorry for you its the next 2 to 3 months of torment of phonecalls etc ....
as for the guys who stole your car i hope they become it ....buy hitting a wall at 110

if you do get a next car it does play on your mind i wont lie i had paranoya for months still do a tad ,and does take about 6 month to get over being burgled its a shitter get window alarms fitted on every window and a few weopons in the house just in case :icon_thumright: i was like you should we bother having a nice car but if we all live in feer of these shits then theyve won , im not giving in ever ive lived here for 32 years and no one is dictating to me what i can have and cant have , or weather i live hear or not ....il just go to further extremes ...simples

Sorry to hear about the car :(

Keep an eye on ebay..... Its odd but everytime one goes missing another one gets advertised on ebay.... For some reason Slough and Manchester seem to be specialists in breakng S3's..... Everytime one turns up on Ebays its from there!

Again sorry to hear about the car :sorry:

Hi Mate

very sorry to hear that! ****** jealous selfish rats from mirrors to taking the whole car!!!
Hopefully insurance will sort it out for you. even thought it can feel frustrating, chip up a car can always been replaced. They must of had their eye on it for some time.

Just shows no matter how strong car security can be once they manage to get hold of the keys that's it, game over.

You should inform Audi finance, gap insurance immediately just in case...? I know these people only want their money etc etc but you never know they might be able to do something in your favor.

They probably brought a bashed up S3 and needed the car for parts. Either way they will always be a c*nt.

Funny you should say that, lm the only 3 in the village so to speak. But tonite one drove past us , didnt clock the number, but sprint blue. Will keep an eye out. this was in Leven, Fife by the way.

i got a cutout fitted to mine so even if they get the keys they cant steel the car and there's just no way they will find the switch so there is stuff you can do .....and it cost me 60 quid to have fitted

Absolutely gutted for you mate. I'll keep an eye out up here.
I sleep with my keys.

Gutted for you mate - Am sorry to hear..

I had my Prelude 2.3 vtec stolen from my uncles house a few years ago and never got it back - it wasnt insured either as i was fixing it up. Also, my mums car got stolen a few years back off my drive and we found it burnt out in a ditch a few miles away.. Gut wrenching feeling.

Hope it comes to a good ending - car returned in one piece unabused or insurance pays out in full as does the gap insurance..

Good luck

Fk that sucks. :crying:

I hope you get this sorted one way or another soon.

This may not make you feel any better, but a mate of mine had his race prepped MINI Cooper S knocked off a few years ago. It had a roll cage and all. It was used in a couple of robberies but was eventually found in reasonable condition all things considered. Okay, he needed an engine rebuild, but you get that with a racecar anyway. He's since done three Targa Tasmania tarmac rallies after getting the car back.

Don't lose all hope just yet!

Cheers
Liam

Sorry to hear this mate. How old is your S3? Check your insurance policy small print for 'new for old' basically what this means is, if you car is less than a year old and it gets stolen or written off the insurance company will replace your car for an equivalent S3, if they can't find the same car, they'll liaise with you to see what car you'll accept as a replacement.

Not many people know about this clause but it's worth reading your insurance terms and conditions.

This happened to a bloke that lives in West Yorkshire near me, his R32 was stolen with the keys from Bradford, the insurance have agreed to supply him an equivalent car as he couldn't find the same spec R32.

Hope this helps.

REALLY really sorry mate, I can not even imagine what you might be going thru.
We have a special medicine for thiefs here in Italy, I hope they nik the ********!

Gavster, sorry to hear what has happened.
I will re-iterate that i hope these ba$&urds rot in hell!

I sleep with Richard Keys

Absolutely gutted for you mate. I'll keep an eye out up here.
I sleep with my keys.

I used to do this until it occurred to my that I value my life more than my car...If the thieves want your car they will do all they can to take it...

So if they break in your house, make sure the keys can be found easily enough without being stupid. A car can be replaced easy with Insurance and GAP these days.

Oh bad luck Paul...

Sorry to hear about your loss mate ... After reading your post and after hearing what happened to 10blazin .. I keep all my car keys, house keys and main gate keys in my bed side drawer.

Sal

Same thing happened to me last December. Took out the cat flat on the back door to get in - stole the keys, my laptop, some fishing gear, my wallet and a load of expensive camera gear. Fecking cnuts. I was asleep upstairs, non the wiser... I'll not forget how it felt when I looked out of the window and my car wasn't there...

I had GAP insurance, so no financial loss was incurred (mind you, my insurance premiums have doubled!), but it's left me scared for life. The police were totally incompetant in their investigation and my car still hasn't been recovered. Still, the insurance all paid out within two weeks... I now have burglar alarm fitted to the house, keep only one set of keys in the house and they are always placed in a safe at all times (that's upstairs and hidden from sight). When I leave the house, the keys go with me (even if I am not using the car). I have had new locks fitted to all the doors and ensure they are locked from the inside at all times - especially at night. Oh and I have a state if the art tracker on my car - no thieving SOB is going to profit from me again!

I only wish I'd had the sense to see how easy we make it for these scum to steal our keys/cars. If you have a 30K car on your drive, for fecks sake, get a tracker on it and get an alarm fitted to your house and DO NOT leave the keys downstairs! I learnt my lesson the hard way. Oh and it CAN happen to YOU. I live in a sleepy little village in what is supposed to be a low crime area... these scum go up and down the country looking to nick your pride and joy... don't give them a chance!

I always take my house and car keys into the bedroom at night. But I sometimes wonder if it's a good idea. If someone did break-in looking for the keys I would rather not be confronted by them in the bedroom. I suppose I could keep one of my airsoft pistols in the same place as the keys. The pistols only fire 6mm plasic balls but the are exact replicas of real pistols. Even a few well aimed 6mm plastic balls hitting someone in the face might even deter them from coming too close.

I think I would rather they just took the keys (and the car) and left quietly. A car can always be replaced at little or no cost to me as I normally only keep my cars for 3 years and they are always covered by GAP insurance.

Ive got 4 steel baseball bats hidden in each room .. and i keep a wooden one in my car boot that is there purely for scum bags who try to act ***** and think their father owns the ****** road .

I'm gutted for you also mate, I keep mine in my bedroom, as I don't trust any feckers on the streets!
Hope you get it sorted with as little trouble and also the tw*ts get caught and smashed up!

I would guess a lot of burglars fall in the `vermin coward` category and will only steal you car if the keys are `handy`.

Otherwise it will be the usual ,small but high value, stuff they can quickly convert into herion tokens.

Entering some ones bedroom and threatening their life is a whole different ball game.
Predominantly the reserve of real nasty organised gangs, who will be just just as likely to car-jack you anyway.

As for trackers, once its been stolen from me, I dont want it back.
I would also be concerned about the repercussions of an organised gang having the car retrieved from them and it sitting back on my drive the next day.
Maybe I would think different if I was a victim under similar circumstances, but fortunately, its been a lot of years since I had a car stolen and it is indeed sickening.

cheers
Paul

+1. If the worst ever happens I hope that it is burned out or never recovered after having some bag-head rag the living daylights out of it.

Any update Gavster?

if they come in and get a few things fine s--t happens, but if they come upstairs while my 7 year daughter staying with me, it will be last burglary they will do on this planet :whistle2:

Really gutted for you mate.....
I got an a3 a few weeks back, and the day i got it a neighbour of mine had his a3 06 plate stolen, crowbar in the conservatory doors while he was asleep.
Stolen in derbyshire and found in bradford,He doesn't want it back, and was going to get a cheap runner, but i told him you can't let the barstewards win.
So he has been to audi to order a new one,to be told his old one is not worth as much,as stolen recovered so he has lost out anyway...It all stinks
