After selling my previous 05 plate A3 3.2Q Sportback DSG, I moved over to the dark side and got myself a BMW 330cd. Although it was a good car, I soon got bored of it and after having to spend £1k on a new turbo, I decided to move back into another.....................05 plate A3 3.2Q Sportback DSG, but this time in S line guise and with plenty of toys!
I picked it up yesterday and it instantly felt good to be back!

I know this thread would be useless without pics so it would be rude not to:photo:

It was advertised as Akoya silver but according to the paint code it's Avus silver

Welcome back Ju

Your old A3 and new one looks a stunner :hubbahubba:

Not dolphin gray is it .. :uhm:

You love the votex Ju! I'm thinking about side skirts for mine though, as i've fcuked my sills, but want them anyway or do I
Go on, get the skirts, you know you need them :o.k:
I just love the understated look of the factory Votex kit as I find the standard bodystyle a little bland, although it is much improved with the later S-Line styling

Thanks, I believe it is Avus silver as thats the code on the sticker, it's just it was advertised as Akoya, either way I love it!

Both A3's look sweet... though I think I like the wheels on your old one better.

I kept those wheels in the garage for almost 12 months and then sold them the week before I got the car:sob:, but that's another story!

nice car i like the front votex spoiler looks nice , throw some 19s on and drop it it will look v nice then...

I had 19" rs4's and H&R springs on the black one and tbh I didn't like the ride and they used to catch over speed bumps!

I'll be keeping the rs6's for now though and will probably get some more springs later.
First mod will be a mfsw when I can pick one up.

Yeah probably so, but I prefer the ride on 18's:whistle2:

Not much difference imo in ride between 18"s & 19"s, I prefer looks of 19"s, plus if ride is too harsh, I'll just turn the coilovers to soft....

.....ahh the advantages of adjusability

i didnt notice any difference from 18s on sline springs to 19s on h&r in fact it rides better now ...sline springs are the worst ive ever experienced , terrible....

oh yeah nate how did you mash your sills ??? did you jack the car up by them ...lol

feck gutted get some skirts on there then ...i neerly took the bottom of my engine off the other day coming off a kirb , was lucky

Looks very nice Ju...

Especially as it looks almost the same as mine :)

And that colour does look like Akoya Silver as thats exactly what mine is.

Mmmmmm interesting, I do have an old brochure and in that it does look more like Akoya, although they are quite similar.

Thanks for the comments:icon_thumright:

I think Avus Silver is more like the traditional standard silver colour (joe blogs silver)

where as Akoya has more of a pruple/gray metalic sheen to it especially in the sunlight. they do look like quite different when you see them together!
