Thinking of selling my AUDI A4 AVANT

you're bang on the top end of the "Private sale - Good condition" for Parker's estimate for a 54 plate "2004 AUDI A4 AVANT 1.8T 190 Quattro S Line", but that's based on 50k, which you're WELL under and the S-Line / Avant / Quattro combination is going to make it pretty desirable, so should be pretty good.... it's a tough market to be selling in, but that's a desirable motor...

why diesel? (asks the derv-driver!)

those 1.8T's aren't that thirsty (on a standard map) - unless you're suddenly going to start doing 20k per year, there's no value in it really... a 1.9TDI FWD will be a fair bit more economical, but you'd have to be a LOT of mileage to make it worthwhile, why not get yours remapped back to 200-ish?

unless you've suddenly got a free supply of used chip-fat?

Looking at selling my 2004 AUDI A4 AVANT 1.8T 190 Quattro S Line, i have listed it on Piston Heads. Let me know what you think only selling as i now could do with a diesel.

Cheers Adam

have you thought of getting an LPG conversion i am running an audi a6 2.8 quattro avant for the same fuel costs as my last 1.9 tdi avant its done 113000 miles and the engine is litteraly spotless LPG produces no carbon there is no difference in power between LPG and petrol some people say there is but i have never noticed it at the moment i am paying 47p a litre it costs me 30 quid to do about 280 to 300 miles of mixed driving the oil last longer the spark plugs last longer and due to lower immisions its cheaper to tax get it professionaly installed with a certificate and register it with the DVLA and it makes no difference to your insurers and its better for the engine because it burns so cleanly . admittedly you have got the initial instalation costs but it makes the car much more desirable when you come to sell it. i owned a 2.8 quattro a few years ago and the fuel costs was scary the only reason i bought this one was because of the LPG conversion i am running a 198 bhp 30 valve v6 4 wheel drive estate that weighs nearly 2 ton for the price in fuel of a 1.9 tdi a4

Been looking at what I can get for around the same cost "ending up with a lesser manufacture" but will be able to get something diesel 2 years younger.

The main reason is I am going to be moving on to the property ladder and need a cheaper car to run over the next few years.

The remap does nothing to the fuel economy, 24.6mpg before and well 24.7mpg after, would not mind another A4 but with a diesel the only thing is I will not drive a shed and am funny about high mileage, so I would be looking at another grand on top of mine to get the same car in a 1.9 130 diesel.

Think i could find a diesel and drop it in mine?? :)

Would you do a straight swap for a 54 (2005) B7 A4 2.0 TDI SE Saloon on 55K FASH with lots of goodies ?

Your motor is exactly what I'm looking for to replace mine, as I need an estate.

match made in heaven?? some of those 2.0TDI's are even better economy than the 1.9's!!

Just waiting for the details, got to say liking the Ford ST TDCI, not that people are going to like that on hear :-(

Any more pics of your car with those wheels on it? I had them on my S6 and am toying with the idea of them on my new motor.. Looks super BTW..

technics - which car/wheels were u after ;) bah.... the 7xtwin spokes!

adcooper... I've heard some pretty decent things about the performance on the 2.0 and 2.2 Mondeo TDI's, but careful which engines... I can;t rememerb which engines were the worst, but know one company where they have a bundle of them on their fleet and they reckon nothing can chase down a Mondeo TDI if you're pushing it: partly the speed and mostly the "military grade smoke screen, anybody behind you can't see sh--"...

I have had both S3 alloys and S4 alloys in the past. I really like S4 alloys but they are hard to get and very expensive. The S3 alloys look the ticket and are a bit different to the norm, and seeing on adcoopers motors makes me want them more.. :) .. I just need some cash now..
