s3 rear bumper get on with an a3?

Audi just told me the wheel arches on an s3 are more flared than the a3. So they reckon an s3 kit wont fit properly anywhere.

You guys showed me that seems to be a lie, but i'ma little worried that the 09' facelift s3 rear bumper & valence is a dfferent shape to the 07 s3 rear bumper & valence.

Do you think it will be fine? Or can i mix and match 09' and 07' rear bumpers and valences?:unsure:

You can fit an 09 S3 bumper and lower valance to your A3. I'll be having an S3 08 Front and S-line 09 back. Dont listen to them mate audi chat a bit of sh*t.

If you have an 09 bumper you cant put on a 07 valance. Needs to be 09 bumper and valance or 07 bumper and valance mate.

Isn't the 09-> valance part of the bumper now? (Could be wrong LOL!) Will the exhaust cut out match the exhaust?

It was the 8L models that didn't strictly match up but could be made to fit.

Hi Ewan

I thought it was attached to the bumper aswell. But when i went to my local dealer to get some prices regarding 09 s-line back bumper and the S3 back bumper they said i'd have to order the valance as its not part of the bumper. But my dealer been wrong about alot of things ;)
 
so will the s3 lower valance fit the older bumpers?? looks like this guy has done it,

was just wondering if its a straight swap? or is there more work involved, was looking to do this also ie changing the whole rear bumper, but if i could just change the lower bit that would save me £££

Well I believe you can fit an S3 lower valance to an A3 back bumper. So for example 07 S3 Valance should fit 07 S-line Back Bumper. I'm pretty sure i've seen a thread regarding this back in June or July. And other members agreed it fit. If not there maybe a little bit of work to get the valance to fit secure and correct but wouldnt be any thing major.
But i'm not 100% as i've not carried out this mod myself. Pm NHN i know he fitted a different valance to his sports bumper and his car 04 or 54.
I'm sure some one can correct me if im wrong. But i know 100% facelift models lower valance wont fit pre-facelift model bumpers

If the 09 S3 rear bumper fits a 2004 8p a3...

I think I'd better stick with an 09 rear bumper and 09 rear valence. Looks to be a safe bet?
 
The 09 s3 rear is all different and not interchangeable. The bumper is in 3 pieces, as the grey bit is also a seperate part. Its the same with the 07 versions.

as long as you stick to the same year all should be ok. Both rears complete will fit an 8p A3.

The dealer is a ****, the wide arches issue only applies to 8L S3's
 
Ashley, maybe when they said you need the valence they meant the insert that goes into the bumper?

I fitted S3 style spoiler to my my 06 s-line bumper the grey bit of that comes with the lower valance and just needs masking off to paint around,everything clips on ok only thing that doesnt look the same as an S3 is where it sits round the exhaust pipes because there different on S3 to mine apart from that as said as long as the bumper and valance are from same year range ie 09 bumper 09 valance etc they should be ok
