My new S.Blue S3!!

yeah im a murderer ...lol no mate its true i got 6 points rushing my girlfreind to hos last year ive got no no claims , and then our car got stolen last dec when we got burgled and some fecker bumped the courtesy car we had a really shyte year plus gorton is one ruff area so add them up theres your answer ....

its depressing its needs sorting im thinking of getting my dad to insure it and jumping on that or do we grin and bare it and change address

must be to do with areas then , ours is ruff lots of shootings and robberys carjackings going on daily so its probably why .....i got to sort it out though its a joke when nate put it like that its a damn lot of money that can go on mods :yahoo:

All insurance is down to is area and that is all...:noway:

Ive been working this out for 13 years..

I paid £2k since i was 17 years old , now 30 years old still the same full no claims..

First they said i had to be 21 then 25 then 30 .. yet a lad from devon 19 gets insured on a Escort rs cosworth £890 ...?????? When i asked about a Rs Cosworth they burst out laughing when i said M5 Post code?? Everything goes sweet during the conversation with the insurance company till we get to the post codes.

I put the M5 postcode down to the amount of cars found on the estate , none stolen off the estate but stolen from the likes of salford quays mainly for Ramraiding or Armed Robberies..

Saying that i do remember some years ago the Police sapphire RS cosworth coming on the estate ,, called out to sunny side flats(high rise) Rough as!! When they ran in the flats the local lads stole the police rs cosworth and was flying up and down the estate,, well before the Helicopter was around.. Then they sped onto the grass verge and all the local lads trashed it then burnt it ( blew it up). And some lad from the flats was videoing the whole thing and the video still goes about..??

It was some time ago though Police was in cosworths??

Anyone remember X cars on T.V ,, it was based on 3 area sof manchester and salford ( broughton and ordsall area m5-m7 was the culprits).

Thinking about it i can sort of understand the steep insurance but by no means i do not like it...

They are liars if they tell you anything else??

Manchester and sports cars is not a good mix !!!

It got to the stage over the years i just decided to not be as honest with a few white lies to the insurance , they don.t like paying out and i would never claim if it was me who damaged it.. ok we could put other factors in the equation but we won.t?

It was the only way i could get the cars i wanted , sick to death of being penalised because i live in a rough area??

Please note i never had a car stolen or damaged in these so called rough areas?? In 13years.. Saying that never had a house touched either??

Lads from nicer areas get insured for like £400-£900 ON GROUP 18-20 with none or 1 years no claims??

Been around on many forums on all sorts of cars and this is how it works!!

I lived in m5-m6-m7 all rough salford post codes all 2k + insurance. I had a civic type R £2100 TO INSURE must be garaged and trackered?? A ****** Civic Type R!!!

After paying this for 2years i decided to try it under my mothers post code M30 it came to £866 ?? So thats where it recided i think...lol..

Before anyone quotes did you try these and them , I rang all of them many times all the performance ones the lot from all the forums..Not going to get into Names ..hope you get the point...

Certain M Postcodes and sports cars= Big Dollars...

I will do as it comes to me mate ,, but you got to grow some plums and tell them exactly how i explain it as its just scandalous how manchester gets ridiculed with Car Insurance:wtf:

Boydie, not sure if you have the answer yet, but Direct Line are surprisingly OK with some mods. You will pay, but the extra premium isn't all that much; where they get you though is the excess which pound to a pinch will almost double.

I have noticed that on 'Meerkat and the likes now have a 'mods' option so you can see what you must declare and what doesn't count. This may have been on there for a while, but I have only just renewed - with Adrian Flux from Direct Line. To be fair to them their policy was good. I really liked the 'criminal damage' thing which doesn't affect your NCB. Would have been handy considering all the wing mirrors going west recently.

Mad that Dave and my friend lives in bowdon, in same road as micah richards and they have brake in attempts every week. Really Really poor man. I live in manchester, I'm from Bristol and although there is alot of wealth here, there is also alot of FAKE wealth.

Dealers from middleton, oldham etc driving round in C63 AMGs, and loads of boys just driving rentals man......p1sses me off

Yeah its been a crazy life ,, unimaginable some of the things ive seen and been involved with/in ,, no fault of my own just a product of the area?

Bowdon and hale,, ive worked loads in.. there some drive out from the city centre and its all very posh like...

But the cars get stolen from them type of areas from the inner city lads,, like where me and Blazin10 live:scared2:

Where abouts in manchester is your obode now?

Good to hear. Take it the exhaust was in a good state :)
Looking forward to the pics!

we fitted the exhaust on friday but there was a bit of transport damage and didnt fit properly - a mechanic mate gave me a metal cone to shape the tips but it was too small :( so have to take it into garage tomorrow to be fitted.

Here's hoping is goes smoothly then thats the car nearly finished already.......for the time being lol

Let us know how you get on tomorrow with the exhaust. Lol for the time being.... Did you decide who you were gonna let remap your lovely S3? And come on Boydie i know you have more plans for the car what are they? lol

If I was to get it mapped, it would probably be a revo but that will not be for a while yet!

Going to Croft circuit next week for a race experience so have to book flights - staying the weekend in Leeds with a friend ;)

First big payment for the S3 this month too :(

Edition 38 beginning of September so have to book the boat and getting there so the next couple/few months will be pricey!

Car getting detailed this week so thats another one lol

nice secure parking

Hope this gets sorted.

Modding is so fun :p

Exhaust is on and sounds awesome! Took it a quick blast at lunch time up the carriage way with the windows down! Loved it!

The guys that fitted it seemed to have done a good job and just said to monitor it for the rest of the week - going to leave it back in with them again though on Friday to make sure everything is nice and tight!

Detail next then photos :)

The modding bug hasn't taken long to bite has it !!! I presume you went for just the CAT back system ? any plans to go for the downpipe and CAT, i'm almost joing the KO4 club buit mine will be a SEAT cupra in red :)

Nice mate - I drove the cupra before the S3 and like it!

I have cat back at the minute and just biding my time until I see a decently priced down pipe and highflow cat!

Hopefully going to meet a number of you finally at ED38 - looking forward to it! :)

Car looks really good, very clean...Looks alot different due to the drop, alloys and plate. How much you lower it by? Any more photo's?

See you at Edition!!!

What pads did you go for in the end?

Hopefully get some decent photos like the original ones done this week, maybe even tomorrow!

The car is lowered 25mm on H&R springs and they are the most genuine 25mm springs I have ever seen! Just slightly higher than my A3 was with coilovers!! A great buy indeed!!

I just ended up going with the standard ATE pads edition - OEM all the way and can't beat employee Eurocarparts discount lol

that looks fantastic, the wheels the ride height both look spot on. If you fit the filter make sure it all goes back together and the intake sits in the correct position, it has been known to break the fuel pumps on cupras if you don't get it right.

Boydie,

Car looks great mate, just the right stance. I've read many threads on here about spacers and lowering, but your picture shows the best configuration IMO.

Looking to go for 25mm H&R springs for my S3, but do you have spacers as well? I've read the whole thread, but still not sure if you do! If yes, what's your spacing for front and rear?

Cheers,

Rich

Youve had all that work done and you only took 1 pic?! Whats the crack lol

Looks awesome mate really does..

Few q's though...25mm down from s3 height is the same 50mm from standard a3?

And what size are the ck's?

P.s more pics!!!

Don't know if it's been asked before, but what's that Sat-Nav? -It looks like an RNS-E, but is it a monochrome (red-only) display???

-Keith

Its called Audi MMI - not bad but not as good as RNS-E

Rich, I do not have spacers in the car as the wheels are 8.5" wide and offset is ET50

The h&r are the most genuine springs I have ever seen/used!

The CH's are 19x8.5

Thanks for the comments and I will get more pics soon!
