New mirrors finally.

Couple of months on and i'm still with the original S4 (had it just over 3 years now).

I dithered and missed out on that 430bhp one. I was annoyed with myself and then a couple of weeks later the seller messaged me to say that the new owner loved it but had a change of plan (wanted a new RS4) and that it was for sale again. I rang and left a good 5 or 6 messages. By the time he'd switched his mobile back on he'd ****in sold it!!!!

Not to worry.

Anyway, I've FIIIIIIIINALLY got round to fitting some late spec original mirrors off a 2000 X plate 1.8T Quattro,.....................chavvy M3 ones soon to go on Ebay. Obviously in the wrong colour for now. I'll probably get them sprayed in Nogaro blue when I get the scratched rear bumper resprayed. Part of me likes them in silver (S3/S4/RS4/S6/RS6/S8 chromed ones can look a bit too shiny for me..................and cost around 78,000 million quid),.........not sure yet.

I'd leave them silver.

And as for too shiny - genuine RS4 ones are cast aluminium matte, and far from shiny, unless you get ebay specials, or genuine S4 covers, then yes, they're shiny.

True, I thought OE ones were shinier than this.......

Cast aluminium matte mirrors were an option on the RS4 - some cheap skate RS4 owners bought after market items, or S4 ones, which are shiny.

I dont like shiney/chrome things tacked on at all. Just looks silly imo.

Nogaro blue, or color match the dark grey that the metal surround that goes round the windows at the side of the car is painted in.

if you want the good ones then the genuine RS4 ones are the best as their ally, chrome should not have a place on the S4 or Rs4 IMO!!

I'm certainly not spending fortunes on mirrors!!!

We have a large mortgage and children to feed (and drums to buy ).

I don't think I'd ever fit shiny chrome ones though no.

hopefully ill be getting genuine ally ones off a guys RS4 next weekend, cheap too nd their genuine so ima go for them, i wouldn dream of bying them from a stealer that s why i asked around for them. but every one to their own so if you want silver then get silver or chrome, jus im not fussedon putting them on mine car looks great though dan

I have them on my car after someone relieved me of my colour coded ones..(thanks)
