what else can i do to my engine??

i have a 1.9 tdi. Turbo technics hybrid turbo and derv dr custom remap, full miltek cat back system, K&N air filter. i want to do some more work to improve performance and give it a bit more grunt. any recomendations? thanks

I would say you might have to go custom for the TDI, have a search on here I'm sure someone did this a while ago to a TDI.

Changing to a Milltek or similar will make it sound deeper.

You could go for some Custom back Boxes to get a deeper drown but I reckon your probably near its limit already. Defo FMIC is the next mod

What clutch are you running on that?

alryt mate/sorry fo the late reply.i have never had the car dynoed myself but the guy who i bought the car off had it done at 187bhp.he was also a member of this forum.unfortunately cant tell you peak torque and through what rev ranges.ive got the standard clutch.not cool/get worried sometimes when you can smell it after a good burn.

Your Stock clutch will be ok mate. The extra torque you are carrying will be fine but its when you push for further power id say you'd need to look into a uprated clutch!

187bhp shd be just about okay on a 130TDI clutch, just try to get the clutch out all the way before giving it the beans...

Like Jus said - you're looking at needing an uprated clutch if you want to push it much further...

nice 1.clutch job can be expensive someone mentioned getting a clutch rebuild.but am starting to wonder wether its all going to be worth it in the end.how much more could i get out my 1.9 tdi. btw its a pd100.

ermmm... I'm pretty sure that's a much lower spec clutch than the 130's! (it is on the VW's)

there was a PD105 VW at the last rolling road day that they mapped up to 150bhp (and actually dyno'd it at that - completely stock EVERYTHING!) and then had to map back down to 130bhp 'cos his clutch was frying itself and slipping... took it for a test drive before they mapped it back down but smelt like smouldering hair when it got back
