Hi everyone,

I just wanted to get some opinions on other members heated seats.

Mine are crap! they bareley get warm, and it's on both. I have sent it back to Audi 3 times and audi UK have now said that it's normal as health and safety have said that they aren't alowed to get hot any more.

Has anyone else found thier seats are not what they were expecting?

In fact I'd challenge that they are worth the money at all. Especially as the 2008 audi's are so damn hot!!

let me know

Not sure about what audi say, but mine are very toasty. Actually too hot when turned all the way up. I just assume there is a large tolerance for the way they are set up and maybe limits can be adjusted with VAG.com

mine get hotter than the sun its an 06 sline , havent we had this thread before was it you who brought this up last time ?? i feel for you mate id be well ****** off with audi , maybe thats just the way they are now at least there not cold though heh ... ooooooh cold leather in winter the though makes me shiver , horrible

mac's is facelife to so you must be able to change it in vagcom or audi are lying and you have dodgy seats

i've had a look in vagcom, and can't see anything obvious in long coding helper.

My wife's 08 TT is mega hot, I think they are taking the **** TBH and am going to write to those nice people on watch dog. Just for fun. They always like making mountains out of mole hills.

My seats may be just what they are lookig for. !!

watch this space.

yeah i would ,i cant believe they haven't sorted it for you yet i hate audi i really do effin hate them ...hope you get it sorted get a list of things on here like seat wear and your heated seat combined , there may be others with issues with heat ....

you may have a case then send it to watchdog hope you sort it anyhow its very disheartening when there's something not right on something you've paid for its very annoying

rated, i hope you get the result you are looking for mate. audi - before sales 10*

audi - after sales NON EXISTENT.:aggressive:

@ blazin same here mate, personally i think the whole team are a bunch of cu*ts the way some people have been treated on this forum. BUT their carss are just NICEEEEEEEEEE! -when they work as advertised!

so to the people who deisgn audis - well done

to the people to sell them and after sales - go and slap yourself. commission eating fools

Dear Chelsea,

I understand that this is nothing to do with you personally, and this email is directed at Audi UK:

If Audi are unaware of there being an issue with current A3's, this means there is something wrong with mine. If you as a company were selling new cars with this level of seat heating, to all your customers, BMW would again be the biggest car manufacturer. Their seats work ok!

The heating is so substandard that I too have compared them to another A3 8P Sportback, July 2009 model, much newer than mine, and all I can say is, you need to get someone to not just stick a VAGCOM lead on it and look at a screen. My seats are defective. In comparison to actually sitting on another A3 seat.

I have to say that the words, "fit for purpose" mean nothing with my seats or the after care service from Audi..

Also, trading standards measure quality as "satisfactory quality is defined as what a 'reasonable person' would regard as acceptable, and takes into account factors such as price, fitness for purpose specified, and durability. As well as many others.

I paid allot of money for this option. And Unfortunately I'm not getting anything that would even resemble money's worth.

I'm afraid I have been left no choice but to inform as many people that I can that may be able to help me on this, as Audi UK have washed their hands of the problem.

I look forward to your response.

KR

Andrew Spencer

Dear Mr Spencer

Further to our conversation dated 21 May regarding the heated seats on your Audi S3 Sport back, please accept my apologise for the delay in responding.

It was with concern that I learned of your dissatisfaction with the heated seats on your Audi S3 and upon knowledge of this I have been investigating this issue with David Hawksworth, Service Manager at Sheffield Audi, and also our Technical Department. As part of this investigation Sheffield Audi have carried out the following:

▪ Two diagnostic checks on the vehicle and found no faults.

▪ They have checked the temperature sensors on the vehicle and these are working correctly.

▪ They have sent a technical report to our Technical Department who have advised that they would check a like vehicle and compare the two. This has been done and both vehicles were found to be the same.

I understand that you have researched on the internet there are other customers with the same issue, unfortunately because this information has not been submitted direct from Audi UK or the Audi Network of Approved Centre then we are unable to comment on this information. The Audi Technical Department have confirmed that there are no known issues with this vehicle and this fault.

The Audi Technical Department and Sheffield Audi have confirmed that the vehicle is performing as it should and this is the design of the vehicle.

In closing, may I apologise for the circumstances which prompted you to contact us and if I can be of any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact me on the telephone number below.

Kind Regards

+1 .. Big mistake that i bought an Audi .. My gf had an accident last year .. An 80 yr old guy didnt do giveway apparently fell asleep and crashed into her .. Car was a total write off .. We contacted BMW roadside accident department .. They gave us a like to like courtesy car for 10 months plus it was insured on their policy.. The end result was that the third party had a medical condition and he knew nothing about it (medical evidence was provided by the hospital) so according to the law it wasnt his fault nor my gf (went propa angry when we heard all that bull) .. We ended up claiming on our insurance policy and BMW had to cuff up the hire cost and they invoiced themslves for £19000.

Just an example that bmw aftersale service is better than audi from what ive experienced in last few weeks .. we did buy a bmw again and are happy with it .. every now and then we get call from BMW to check if everything is ok etc etc ... as it was our 2nd BMW car got tlc package for free i.e first 6 services are free. Guys at bmw scothall leeds & sandal wakefield are very very helpful.

lol ill defo go for m3 in white .. unless we both decide to settle down and are in need of 5 door car then 5 series a good option for us .. but then if you look at new A1 blimey its sheer beauty so you never what audi is going to do with A3 when it comes to design and that is whats most tempting about audis '' THE LOOKS ''.

Not anything to do with the standard pap that people put at the bottom of Emails that no one pays attention to unless it suits their purposes.

I don't care anymore. why should I when they don't give a dam about me?

only spent just over £30k on one of their cars, in a resession and all. Help them out a bit. Why should I expect any curtisy in return.

Now where did I leave that 353d Msport brochure.......

Not anything to do with this is it?

err yep, it was. Oops.

Just had to edit the post too. don't want to get royaly :sex: by the audi monster now do i

i know the tits did someone see it on here and get in touch with you over it from audi ...

Hi Aspen, i've got an 09 facelift S3 and my front heated seats are crap compared to what i've been used to in my previous Audi's, when i bought the car i spec'd rear heated seats aswell and they get really hot! So Audi turned the temperture down on the the front ones but not the back ones! Doh! I complained and got nowhere, the same as you, I mean come on Audi this is a 30 k car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:uhm:

Just as a note to anyone writing a letter in the future. Its worth not mentioning Vag-Com as thats an aftermarket interface and not supported by Audi. By mentioning it it may sound to them like you have been playing with the cars settings which they really dont like and won't cover under warranty. Not that this has any bearing on the OPs letter but worth noting all the same.

can i just second that, they don't like people playing with vagcom.

But as Iassured the technical dept earlier, I'd never do anything like that, and certainly couldn't afford the £200 for a vagcom lead. I spent it all on my heated ****** seats.

the answer is simple ....dont be loyal to a brand that isnt loyal to you ... ******
