What a difference!

Not had the poly snub-mount delivered yet, so still got to fit that. But I guess when that's on, it'll be as smooth as a baby's bottom.

It's completely transformed the quality of the ride now. The original mounts were absolutely foo-barred! They fell out...!!!

could you do me a favour, when your snub mount arrives could you measure it for me?
I may have stumbled on a peice of poly that to my eye perectly resembles the outside diameter of the snub. just need to slice a peice off and drill a hole through it!

Just phoned Awesome (where I ordered my snub mount form last week) to find that it's not even left the U.S. yet and could be at least another two weeks before I get it.

Not what I wanted to hear. Might as well have paid just £4.50 to get an OEM unit from Audi and fitted it at the same time as the other mounts. Grrrrrrrrrr!

That's sh!t mate, tell them you want a refund and get the OEM part.

Lee... got them from GSF in the end... my friend has an account with them, so it was £55 for two engine mounts and a gearbox mount.

Going to send e-mail requesting refund for snub mount now.

anyone know what size the snub mount is?
if it works out like I think it will I should be able to get 4 or 5 snub mounts from the peice which is about £20.

need size of mount first and no vendors I have emailed seem interested. they know I will only use the numbers to make my own!!

is it square with a hole or round with a hole?

the stock one is round, but most aftermarket replacements are squareish.

The B6 one that folk buy from awesome is perhaps 2-2.5" square and maybe 1.5" thick. The top and bottom are cut into V shapes and the tips of the V dont actually touch the housing, the bush moves around which isnt really ideal.

Ideally you'd want the mount to fit reasonably snugly into the hole, but if its really tight it will transfer a lot of vibrations thru the shell.
