I've got an S4 avant and was wondering if the RS4 boot spoiler is a stick on item that i can get or is it part of the boot it's self on the RS4?
If it's a stick on then how much is it for a OME one?
I've seen some stick on ones from ebay and had the chance to dry fit it and it did'nt fit well so i did'nt buy it.

Was that the genuine audi spoiler or an replica made of fibreglass? The genuine one is sold under the "Votex" name and it is made by MS Design and its a good fit. It will need bonding to the rear tailgate, if your's an avant...

Somebody fitted an RS4 one to mine before I bought it.

Avants look kind of 'bald' to me without them to be honest.

It was a fake but it was made of plastic not fiberglass.
I think they do look good on an avant and i'm getting mine re-sprayed soon so am thinking of all the bits i can get done at the same time.

Cheers for the pic, that has helped me make my mind up.

I'll try ms designs then.

The oem ones are indeed stick on items,
I wouldnt bother with those nasty fibre glass replicas on ebay though
Keep serching ebay and be patient, I bought mine off the bay(oem) they do come up every now and again, got mine for £40, never been fitted or painted but needed a slight repair to corner but no problem
oem ones are well over £100 from your local steeler, iirc.
oem are verry light weight, made of some sort of dense hard foam like a surf board.

How do the fit on. Is it more of a bonding process rather than sticky back plastic?

stop drawing attention to it...I will never get it at a decent price if everyone knows about it!! ;)

OH dear there could be a bidding war about to start :box:

Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhttttttttttttt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!........

looks like the right one,
the instructions with it look right, mine came in an audi box tho, so it may be a copy with photocopied instructions.
Ask if they can take a pic of the underside, you will be able to tell because there is a logo square underneath which is hard to see when on car, i think its an ms design logo.

assuming the chassis isnt bent...

If that B-Pillar has taken a knock then its going to need more than just a bit of TLC!

who got this spoiler then?

Re that converted S4 .... why do people think putting "lady Owner" on an advert makes it more sellable ? For me having a "lady owner" means not serviced properly and not looked after. My girlfriend's motor hadn't been serviced for 30K miles before she met me....... her prognosis was that garages just rip her off so why bother at all... the car still runs ok

90 quid i was told, sounds about right, they only do things in increments of hundreds and thousands!!

Just spoke to audi and got some prices for avant spoilers (and there not cheap).

RS4 spoiler
Part no. 8d9827933a £217 + vat

Standard Avant spoiler
Part no. 8d9071640ak9ax £127 + vat

What the difference is visually i couldn't tell you.

As i suspected, that ebay listing wasnt an RS4 spoiler.

it was the "standard avant spoiler" listed above

I'm pretty sure our car doesnt have any spoiler on it at all though....

Not me, I had to go out and did'nt get to put a bid on, so missed it all together :banghead:

I did ! I just stuck it on the car 30 min. ago ! Indeed, it was the "standard" avant spoiler wich is also made by the MS Design and as far as i can tell there is no visual difference between the 2 spoilers, unless the RS4 one cames with the fitting kit as well. Mine had no glue/cleaner or sandpaper and one of the corners needed a slight repair-curtoasy of Royal Mail !

get them pics up then.

You better go for the real deal mate. The genuine ms design spoiler is made of hardened foam wich is very light and its a very good fit. I have seen a fibreglass one and wasnt soo keen on the fit and finish ! If its dirt cheap i would give-it a go but if i were to spend 50 quid+, you know i will go for the real deal !
