Ok, I've narrowed down the spec, cleaned up the px and have the wads of cash under the mattress.

So yes, I'm very to sign a dotted line to turn my Golf into an A3 Black Edition with a few options. Where are the best buys?

Who's willing to tell what deal they struck?
(pls keep the details of any compromising positions to yourself!:angrymod:)

Hi

If you dont get many replys in this thread. Your best bet would be to post in a thread called Black Edition. Lol i think every person who has a Black Edition discuss a lot of stuff regarding the Black Edition in there. Good luck with the deal mate

Thanks

Ashley

I got about 10% off a 3 door TDi 170. PM me if you want details

10% direct from dealer or 11.43% via a broker.

I got about 10% too on my 1.8TFSI at Warrington Audi, ive heard Ellesmere Port Audi are doing so massive discounts but not sure if their on the Black Ed.

make your you get the 1.8 or 2.0 and step tronic!!! makes driving a lot of fun. heated seats and interior light pack are nice

Got nothing on mine.

2.0 TFSI 3-door manual.

Only one dealer in Guernsey, so paid what they wanted for it!

Chris

Quite a different market situation there. Was a UK mainland purchase an option?

Is there a great difference between the 1.8 and 2.0 in terms of power/torque in the real world? I can't decide between (BE) 1.8 S tronic and 2.0 manual. Both similarly priced. I test drove the 1.8 auto and loved the smooth gear changes. Not driven the 2.0 yet but is the power delivery much greater than the 1.8?

Ideally I'd love the 2.0 S tronic but will have to sacrifice RNS-E to bring the cost down

After much bartering I can get just under 9% from a dealer.

Probably gonna lose out with the VAT rise, but I'm going to commit tomorrow.

Thanks for all the advice on here, you've help me choose:

Sportback 140tdi Black Edition in black
S tronic
Lighting packs and CD changer

Cheers :beerchug:

You will regret the 140 , push for a 170 as there is no going back.

Why don't you check the Audi approved car list on Audi Uk site there are always a few Black edition , with more spec and 170 bhp.

You could spend the same money and get a better spec car , not wait 4 months. There is always the odd demonstrator.

"No going back" -its not a tattoo or the like.

140 was my deliberate choice - in my view the right balance of factors important to me. I can always use to my TT on days I need to rush.

I've also spent much time with the used lists (and the dealers of course) but the deals aren't really that great.

Good luck at the dealers then. 9% isn't a bad deal. Can't you pay ahead of time to save on the VAT increase?

I want the 170tdi with s-tronic

Sorry it was this that made me think you wanted a 170bhp , i just assumed that you had decided to budget , therefore offered an opinion.

it was only an opinion , as i have always done very well with demonstrators.
I was not aware you also had a TT.

Yes it is like tattoo unless you intend to change the engine.

Great spec, congratulations - when did your order get committed for that delivery?

That seems very quick - my order was placed first week of Aug, and Im already being told of delays to the 3rd week of November! Thats nearly 4 months.

My previous A3 was a 170PD and my current one is a 140 common-rail and most certainly do not regret my choice. I test drove both the 140 and the 170 and both with the s-tronic before I made my decision and I preferred the way the 140 drove over the 170. It was a little more flexible, a little quieter and gives a better mpg and is still quite happy cruising at 120mph on the German autobahns.

The old PD engine had a number of differences between the 140 and the 170 but I think on the new common-rail version the only difference seems to be the 170 has a slightly bigger turbo.

Most A3s take around 10-12 weeks but it can take a bit longer if a dealer has used up all that month's allocation or perhaps the particular dealer concerned already has one on order and he can use that. The final delivery date will only be confirmed when the factory issue a build week for that particular car.

Well its Audis largest UK Customer thats actually buying it "LEX" as its a company car, and we have ordered 2.

The dates are coming directly from Audi UK so I cant see it being a dealer delay to be fair.

There have been several occasions in the past on this forum where cars being obtained by leasing companies have taken longer than those through a dealer.

Got it for £21600, so I'm pleased with that. I'm only 19 so went for the 140 over the 170, insurance is already 2400! The extra for the 170 was silly.

Ordered it last wednesday and it is being built 23rd November! I asked for that date as it was my birthday, although it may be the week after.

Got it from Bedford Audi

If it does get delayed I've told Audi there is no way in hell I'm paying the VAT rise!

But you have probably signed an order form which includes payment of the VAT at the rate current at the day of delivery!!!

They may well be happy to discount the car a little more to cover it though.

What did you think of Bedford Audi. I've been to see them several times and always been treated well but their best price has always been bettered by my chap the other Vindis Audi dealer in Huntingdon. Mind you I have purchased six of my seven A3s from the same chap over the years.
