Most annoying things about driving on motorways??

Andy S3....yeah, I think you are right.....but something needs doing.....perhaps we should adopt what they do in France or Germany....(if somone could enlighten me )

Obvously my tractor scenario wouldnt apply on motorways as theyre banned, but on a dual carriageway it could be the case. And escorted wagons can go wherever they want - providing they dont get stuck! lol

I "think" on the continent HGV's are banned from travelling on a Sunday. But because the Peage's are toll routes the majority of heavy traffic takes the Route Nationales as it's cheaper for them, so it keeps the motorways flowing better. But in france they have one thing we don't - space!

In honesty banning HGV's at peak times would never work, all sorts of deliveries and collections would go out the window and it would be unworkable.

personal hate....every tosser especially women in ford ka's.Dont they know there is more than one forward gear? And ***** that drive 'smart ' cars.Theyre not smart theyre stupid tin (or plastic) pots that need crushing. It was about three years after their inception that I realised that they werent replacements for the blue three wheelers, and that areses actually paid for them!Rant over.Oh, and the nearly dead that wear caps. And anyone that sticks to 10mph under the spped limit.Or worse those that keep to it.If there was a sign that said 'boil your head now',would they?:keule::keule:

just about everyone .... especially tossers who do 60 in the fast lane ,anyone doing over a ton is ok by me:rockwoot:

I'm not sure you can criticise someone who sticks to the legal speed limit in all honesty. :uhm:

legally no, realistically yes.Ive dual carriageways by me that should (and were) be nsl, but have been dropped to 50 permanently.Combine this with one closed lane for roadworks with a speed limit of 30 Get the jerk in a Ka doing 20 and bingo traffic jam.My theory is do whatever if conditions permit!

My personal opinion is that all HGV's should be banned off the roads from say 06:00 to 09:00 and 16:00 to 19:00.....and weekends and bank holidays....

Id say thats pretty unworkable, imagine every truck in the country looking for somewhere to park at 05:55 and 15:55...

Why not cancel road tax on trucks that are prepared to be on the roads from 8pm till 8am, after 8am if they are still driving after that fine them £50. Id guess that would clear almost every supermarket lorry off the road and make a lot of companies re-arrange their working hours...
