Hi James and Welcome to the forum.

Here is the description of the FSI technology from the Audi UK website...

FSI® direct injection technology increases the torque and power of spark-ignition engines, makes them as much as 15 percent more economical and reduces exhaust emissions. In contrast to conventional intake manifold injection on conventional spark-ignition engines, FSI® engines inject fuel directly into the combustion chambers. This technology dispenses with the throttle plate. That ‘unthrottles’ the engine, reduces heat loss and thus increases output while reducing fuel consumption.

The system uses two charge-air supply modes: direct charge at partial load and homogeneous operation at full load. In the durect charge mode, an combustible fuel-air mixture is only produced in a defined zone around the spark plug. The engine management electronics monitor engine load and adjust injection timing, pressure, quantity parameters as well as the air flow inside the cylinder via the air intake channel. At full load, FSI® increases compression as well as engine efficiency and performance.

If you want further information about other things to do with your A3 it's worth a look in the Glossary (in the right-hand panel) on the Audi UK website at www.audi.co.uk. If the information is not there by all means ask on here. I'm sure someone will know the answer.

ahh, 'Fuel Stratified Injection' The amount of people who ask me what it means, and i'm like.... i don't know! :):rockwoot:

before your all wondering, i'm quite ***** with cars.. I am extremely lucky to have this car as i am only 21!.. I'm also not to sure what could be done to enhance the car both visually and mechanically.. any advise?

The only thing i've done so far is buy some audi stickers off ebay

Thanks h5djr.. :)

Your main priority should be losing the fake wood! ;)

Congrats on the car. Good to see another 2.0 fsi owner.

Depending on insurance your best mods would be to put some better wheels & suspension on it (looks like an SE from your pics) this will make it a bit more fun to drive.

You could also put sportier bucket front seats in (for around £100 off ebay, or £700 if you wanted leather).

You'll never run out of things to add or do to it.

Thanks h5djr.. :)

Whats your insurance like on that? Ohh yeah every one got modding plans lol BUTwill leave your pockets feeling light! May regret asking lol! List doesnt end!
I'll do a list lol

1. 09 face lift rear lights, changes the back of your car a lot! Picture below!

SDC10886-1.jpg

SDC10813-1.jpg
SDC10901-2-1.jpg

2. I'd 100% lower the car on springs or coil overs. So its sitting just right!

3. One grill conversion probably the best as it wil look like a different car all together! So your car will look like a late 2005 upwards to 08! Check the link http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/showthread.php?t=54571 Its quite easy and loads of people have done it on here!

4. Mechanically if you mean tuning limited on the the fsi not many gains. But could get an aftermarket exhaust if you want a nice sweet note!

5. New alloys? Upgrade to 18" or 19"?

6. Little interior bits new steering wheel FBMFS or MFSW i dont have any picture but sure some one wont mind posting a picture up!

The list could go on and on lol so some other members can add to it :)
Haha its ok i never knew what it was till a member said on here!

Welcome, son.

I'm new too, just bought a 2.0fsi and i'm 21!

Were in the same boat. Audi sport is right man, lower your car, rims.

Big differences. And i'm looking to do exterior first.

But i'm leaving lowering till last.

Thanks for all the recommendations, really appreciate this. Ive noiticed that there are very few FSI's on the road? i've never really understood why either!

All I ever see is 2.0Tdi's on the road, The Fsi's just arent as common, I can understand why with comparable performance and improved economy but have you ever heard an enthusiast saying theyve got diesel running through the veins? It gotta be petrol all the way!
Im 19 and the insurance is pretty steep as it is as you can imagine, so personally against the pretty rubbish performance increase's its not really worth spending out on a remap or anything like that IMO.
But as said already, go for new rims, springs and interior!

yeah.. the first thing i'm going to do is sort the rims out. would you recommend anywhere online where i could get some? any make in particular? any type of rim that looks nice with A3'S or is it just personal preference? :)
