Roof-rack pics on A4

Geeman, it's all in fun mate,:friends: i don't like it, but many do, including yourself. It's big in the US scene for certain, they even choose accessories like snow board holders to be cool.

One thing it does do, its makes it look more like a work horse car than a car someone would race, so should stop the chavvy Corsas and Paxos trying to race you from every set of lights
:racer:
PS my car came from the factory Purple, and you are more than welcome to comment on it as i like it, don't bother me if no one esle does :blownose:

You are taking this all the wrong way. It is my PERSONAL opinion that is all. I never said a bad word about your car infact I do quite like it. I have no quarms with people modding cars hell I do it myself. The more unique the better.

Oh an PS My car has alway been Merlin Purple I did not "PAINT" it that I had a re-spray after I carshed it. And as you are aware Purple IS the fastest colour :moa:

Well, at the very least, it's stimulated a bit of healthy banter!

heh, yer no offence intended, i was just ******* myself at audinarys "grandfather clock" comment and thaugh i'd mash something up in photoshop, its his car btw, incase anyone hasnt realised, not mine.

I do realise that everyones tastes differ, we've all seen some of the monstrosities at our local cruise scenes that are layered in tonnes of fibreglass or some standard clio thats had some lexarse lights nailed on. I'm sure the people building them like them!

I'd never seen nor heard of this particular "dub" mod before, and i was under the impression that the dub scene usually entailed removing as much from the car as possible (de bumpering, dechroming, dehandling etc etc), lowering it lots and fitting wheels that are too wide, clearly theres more to it than that though!

Best thread in ages had me in stiches.

Geeman your a star.

Think my roof bars may go back on tomorrow in support.

Some great photos too.

i have roof bars, i brought my avant to the gti at the pod aragorn, cant you remember i had my bikes on the roof, Ive now added a Thule roof box which holds a load of s##t.
my avant is the dog car and everything goes in the roof box, it saves getting dogs hairs on everything, but in my opinion they look better with bars and box's

geeman, nice car..don't think an a4 is retro enough to carry off a roof rack look though.not unless you stick some mws 17 inch fuch on it and narrowethe front end 6 inches, still each to there own.

I hope these pics make everyone happy now... the roof-rack in use! :moa:

Yeah, it's a genuine Audi rear blind, but it's a retro-fit item that I installed last week, so it's not a 'built-in' factory blind. I picked it up off the 'bay of goodness...

why are people asking about the blind?? got one in mine too

Joss... come on... maybe no-one's seen a pic of your car with the blind up. Don't feel bad. It wasn't a common option on the A4's to have a factory-fit rear blind, so many people would be interested in retro-fitting one, like I wanted to!

The front splitter is from a SEAT Leon Cupra R - a staggering £17 from the SEAT dealer!

Cheers guys!

It'll need some minor modification to get it to fit properly. The two centre mount points need to be cut down and the side sections need trimming as they are a little too long. I've got to adjust mine as the two side mounting points don't quite match up at the moment! (unless you're a freak, you can only see one side at a time, so it's not THAT noticeable!)

oh i see, just wondered. i thought they were standard.

Yeah, I was quite surprised that someone picked up on it... it's not as if I've picture-whored it like I have with other mods I've done!

noticed it because i wanted one after seeing this,

side ones look pretty cool, and he's mounted his rear one further back

seat splitters have gone up, 19 + tax now, on the centre bit of yours how did you get it flat, fitted my centre bit by cutting holes in lower bumper and pushing it in but its got a bit of a curve in it, looks ok but would prefere it flat

I got my dremell out and took the tops off them.

That shade is a factory fit shade... there's no room back there for a proper fit of a retro-fit item like mine.

Might have to get me some rear-sides though... they look pretty trick.

Yours does look very trick though.

.

Ordinarily I'd have gone for the Thule bars, but I didn't like the fact that they stuck out the side as yours do so I held back from getting a set... instead I stumbled across the Votex bars on Ebay.

Mine is functional too... I've had three sets of wheels/tyres, a set of garage doors and loads of gardening supplies on there in the last 2 weeks!

Just because it's functional, doesn't mean it can't look nice... hence why you bought your S4 Avant... right? :yum:
