I've just bought some 16" Audi A4 B6 alloy wheels. They're fundamentally the same as the B5 Sport items, apart from having a covered centre cap.

Bought in error from Ebay, as I bid on the wrong item from the seller - actually meant to bid on some steel wheels he had. Whoops! So, I'm picking them up on Sunday, and if anyone would like a set of decent winter wheels, then please let me know and they're yours for the princely sum of £55. :icon_thumright:

Hey mate don't know how to pm on the new site. I'll take em, just to make sure, they're good for the b5, 205, 55, 16. 112 x 5 etc?

This is the blurb from the Ebay auction. That's all there was, accompanied with the phot above. These will fit the B5 without a problem. I would keep them, but I've already got another set.

They reckon the tyres are 255/55/16 in the Ebay description, but in the bottom photo, you can just make out it says 205 in the top right...!

Audi A4 Alloys And Tyres
Off 02 Plate A4 Avant.
1 tyre with very good tread and 3 just about legal.
All alloys have been slightly kerbed...see photo.

Now on provisional hold for Dieselfitter, unless I hear otherwise.

Cool. Do you have them yet, just wondering if you can double check the sizes etc before I commit. Cheers! yeh, reckon that theyd have made a mistake as 255 width would probably roll off the wheels...

And texted hopefully, but I'm not sure the number you geve me is right. Can you check it please?

Cheers,

Woo! Going down on Wednesday to pick up the wheels. Always wanted 17"'s but never been lucky there. These will be fine and mean I can use my existing rubber and it'll save initial refurb hassle. Also, the trip will see stinky turn 248k.... almost there!

I'll be interested to see how these look. Should be nice and fresh, and I think proportionally 16s always looked fine under the B5- 17s are great but much above 19 and the whole thing starts to look like a micro machine.

I must get round to re-eBaying my old B5 16's

Will post some pics from Wednesday. Will try to get some shots of stinky and Geemans ride together. It'll be like the prince and the pauper.... awww. love you stinky :O)

Gonna get the rubber changed over while I'm down there at a kwik fit or something so will try to get some pics of that too. Looking forward to a 'fresher' look, the rust isn't as bad ait used to be but it should clean up the over all look of the car.

They're getting picked up by Stinky's Dad tomorrow. :beerchug:

Dude... don't expect a minter from my Sport... she needs some paint!

See you tomorrow fella!

(if you're taking pics, I better take the nasty rack off first! - lol)

...me and my big chopper! :eyebrows:.

Twas a long day but good fun. Took it really easy. I filled the tank before I left, (in Edinburgh 11 miles from home). Trip counter now reads 560miles and I reckon I've still got about 60 miles in her...never had 600miles out of a tank of diesel before on stinky! It'll be an achievement! Also broke 248k on the way back.
