Gents - Should the 20 FSi have a full engine cover?

mate of mine picks one up at the weekend but when we viewed it it looked like this:

is there a bit missing?

Car is a 53 Plate

Cheers
Paul

PS - I drove it and thought the 2.0 FSI it was very good.

Nope.

Looks exactly like mine does, and every other 2.0 fsi I viewed before buying mine. All were 53 and 04 plates.

thats normal mate..looks slightly odd..i know!

I think mines got an extra bit of plastic covering the spark plugs. I could be wrong (usually am).

mine is the same, i did think that too because there are brackets, but its fine,

does anyone know if you can get aftermarket covers?!

Lol I think you're the only person on ASN ever to admit that!

Also find it scary that somebody who doesnt own one isnt slagging it off, thanks Paul LOL

oh, aye, yes, mine is the same though there are brackets that suggests that someting is missing LOL

i dont know why 2.0fsi are slagged so much it seems to be the diesel guys that do it though... ....

haha good one ...i think all audi engines are good petrol and diesel the only one that is truly and i mean truly terrible was the 5 speed 1.6 i had one for about 8 month the speed was terrible truly awefull if audi put 6 speed in and shortened the gear ratio slightly it might of worked ....might ..lol and ive heard the old 1.9 diesel is bad aswell and as loud as the QE2's engine room not sure how true that is though

I think I know the answer to why these diesel guys slag off petrol.....

It's similar to when a woman sees another woman who is better looking than her.... and then starts to b*tch about her.....
"yeah but she's got fake boobs/hair/eyelashes/etc".
:)

Mine also has got a cover to cover up spark plugs and coil packs nearer the bulkhead but mine is 2 tfsi if thats any different

Yep thats perfectly normal, Mines the same (04 Plate)

Finally a thread involving the 2.0Fsi where it isnt slagged off!
Praise the lord!:yahoo:
Its only a matter of time till a diesel lover comes and ruins the fun though...:keule:

Must admit I was a bit sceptical of the FSI minus the `T` but FWIW I thought it was very good!

cheers
Paul

The good thing is... when they do come to ruin the fun we'll be able to prepare some comebacks in advance.... as we'll hear them coming from miles away!!
:whistle2:

If there wasn't a 2.0 tfsi, then I imagine the fsi wouldnt get slated half as much as it does...
It is a lovely engine, Quick, economical (for a petrol) and a smooth power delivery.
Having said that a tfsi is definitely on the cards for my next motor :)
