A4 Cabrio B7 Bluetooth issue

hi guys,

i just got the new N97 in and hooked it up to the bluetooth in my car, it connects fine but does not pick up my contacts, it just says button not used!?!?

also when i click the wheel to pick up the call it sometimes puts the phone down!

help would be great!

I think you need to install Jetware to get the contacts to transfer from your N97.

Do search on the forum 1st mate as this has been discussed many a time with Nokia N range handsets & does need a contact software utility to get this to work with the car, only seems to be Nokia's though, strange but alas.

Dont understand the issue your having, as my N97 connected and automatically downloaded the contacts from the phone via BT at the first attempt. In my previous N95 I had to download a piece of s/w from the nokia site called "download manager" to get my contact info from phone to the car but with the N97 this was not required.

Are your contacts stored on your phone or SIM ?

hi mate......the phone and the sim...i tried what i think you will ask next and turn on sim contacts i did that, whilst also turning off phone contacts, but it just says button not used! arrrrgh

The other possibility is the version of the Bluetooth module in your car - IIRC only the newest versions work properly with the N97.

I've got an N95 8GB and I can't get the contacts to sync the car either. I've tried the Nokia download manager but it still wont sync.

I've given up now.

My wifes Sony Ericsson k850 sync's no problem.

Just get the newer module & unplug old, plugin new & code, voila job done.
