Exhaust pop

Buy rice crispies - that way you get a snap and crackle thrown in for free.

wooooow to much slang being used here, i'm a newbie, and dont know what you are taklking about, the world of turbos is all new to me and i dont know what they are or how they work or what products are best for them lol

all i know is i want it to sound sporty and go quicker than standard

APR R1 = Diverter Valve
TTDA = Cold Air Intake
;)

hello, i am going to get a A3 1.8T

My mate has a astra vxr and he has put an exhaust on it and when he floors it and changes gear it pops

if i had the 1.8T and put a cat back on it would it pop ar would i need more of a system?????

In a word... FAIL!

another question

i know there are two different turos fitted to the 1.8 20v turbo 150BHP modle if this is true what are the two turbos, how can you tell the difference and can one be remaped better than the other?????

On the FWD 1.8t its 150 BHP k03. Its the quattros that get the 180bhp and the KO3s they can be mapped to around 220 ish.

Its a costly upgrade tho.

so what can the 1.8t k03 be remapped to????

Some claim well over 200bhp but thats a load of rubbish on a Ko3.

Most generic maps aim for between 190 and 200bhp.

I have a KO3 and its got a Custom Code Phase 1 map and its really good. Much better than standard. The AGU KO3 is really nice to drive after a remap, real smooth and progressive power delivery, if you get it done you'll be well happy with it.

Add a decent air filter, intake and exhaust and you should be just under 200bhp or there abouts. Loads more torque too over standard, mine pulls much harder than before and all the way up the rev range with a load more top end grunt :)

slight off track but do all 1.8tqs have the k03s turbos or not? my cousin has an a4 1.8tqs w reg and is trying to find out what turbo he's got.

If you want the pops on the change and the burble on the over-run the trick is the turbo downpipe.

I was told that the KO3s only arrived in the year 2000.... my TQS is a 1999 model so i thought that it must be a KO3.... however after talking to a guy who does remmaps he said Audi had a habbit of fitting things a little earlier than they actually admitted and recond that all the 180 bhp models would be a KO3s as Audi would still want an element of reliability in the cars... in other words they would not run the KO3 at 180 bhp because it would be too close to it's maximum

so they run them like this :- model, standard power, max power
KO3 standard power=150bhp max power=190bhp
KO3s standard power=180bhp max power=220bhp
KO4 standard power=220bhp max power= 260bhp

so there's always that element of reliability built into the standard setup, that said though i've yet to confirm my 1999 model does indeed have a KO3s..... watch this space as i hope to know within a week
