Hi, I am fairly new to all this so please excuse any basic errors - I have just bought a new A6 2.0 TDIe and would like to change the alloys. It is too late to change them on the car, so can anyone recommend any - can you put a different size on, ie if they are with 17" wheels can yu put 18" ones on ?? Where do you get the red disc brakes from ? Thanks for any help

You would need to use a Tyre Calculator to ensure that the rolling radius of the new tyre is within about 2% of the original tyre. If you don't the the speedo will be wrong, and worst case if you have a quattro car it will chew the diffs up eventually!
ie, if you swapped 215/50 17's for 235/40 18's then the overall difference in diameters is 0.3% which is fine :thumbsup:
By "Red Brakes", do you mean coloured calipers? If so they are just painted the colour of your choice.

I have had a look at the calculator - where could you pick up 4 19" 8.5J 7 double spoke design alloys (work out at 0.61% and 4mm so that should be okay shouldn't it)

I'm not up to speed on A6 wheels, post a pic up to show what you mean.
They are RS4 wheels, you would need to buy replicas as the offset on OEM RS4 wheels would be too much for a 'normal' car due the RS's flared wheelarches.
Hopefully a knowledgable A6 owner can advise you as to the offset need for your car

I have a 3.0TDI S-Line Quattro (2006 - latest shape) and the car has the 18" RS6 style 5-spoke original S-Line alloys.
The offset on these wheels is ET43, and they are pretty close to the edge of the arches as standard. As the RS4 offset is ET29 (i.e. 14mm further-out) then you'll end up with the car looking silly, like some kind of american hot-rod!! I would stick with an offset of 35mm or more. Remember, the lower the "ET" number, the more the wheels stick out from the hub.
Incidentally, I have a B7 A4 Cabrio, which had the 18" RS4 style wheels on that as standard. When I changed them for 19"s a few weeks ago, I tried the 18" RS4 style wheels on the A6. For some reason, they looked really small, much smaller than the same size standard wheels. Not sure if it is just the design, but they didn't look right. I know you're looking at 19s, but just a word or warning!!
