Could it be...

From the Audi 100 Years Online Special microsite:

"Grand ceremonial act on July 16 2009 in Ingolstadt with German chancellor Angela Merkel... Not to burst the bubble but the A1 is more likely.

Actually I beieve it's going to be a special edition S3... The S3 SB.

Don't know what the SB stands for but I hear they got the idea from some magazine article...

My money is on some sort of A1. Audi have been missing out for years in this segment.

Minis and FIAT 500's everywhere and none of the cash heading Audis way. Makes sense really.

Doesn't SB signify SportBack already though? Or is that just what 'we' refer to it as?

Any idea on what the source was/is?

As above, I would take a stab in the dark at a city car.
 
yeah from my general updates this will probably be the official unveiling of the A7 or whatever the CLS equivalent will be badged...think Audi have some teaser shots on their own website at the mo so this would seem to corelate...

correction...A5 Sportback! not A7...

Not sure if I like it or not really. 4 door variant makes it a bit mis-shapen.

That'd be one hell of a 4 door road car...

I had a chat with my dealer, asking about the RS3 and did he think they would be one, his 'bet' is on an RS5 next, which with all the talk about the A5 having similar 'styling' to the Ur. but surely they won't put the 2.5l 5 pot in that, the only place I see that fitting is a smaller chassis, like the 3. if an RS5 is next that would have to be based on the V8 or V6, wouldn't it?

that's it they are going to go back to the old numbering scheme, and bring back the Audi 100

He did mention something about another world premiere after the Sportback though didn't he?

After 15 weeks of questions I didn't win the A5 in the 100 years raffle either... disgusted.

I did however finally get my Phatnoise fitted this evening :yes:
