In the long run I'm fitting some AP coilovers but after recently being caught out by a scammer I'm having to save again.

If anyone has just fitted lowering springs to their S3 could you post up a pic for me to see inc what make theu are as I'd like to see the stance before I buy. I'll be running either 17" s3 ronal standard alloys or 18" TT Rs4 style ones.

Many thanks

Ben:yes:

whats the lowest lowering springs you can get just wondering.

Anything's possible with an angle grinder I suppose!!
Think I've seen 100mm printed before - although I'm sure Damian or Rich have come across lower in their line of work. Not sure why people would want to go that low though

Its for the look really ini, but ye handling wise going low as possible aint the best thing to do. Has anyone got a pic of about 50mm drop

Lowered appr. 25mm with H&R springs (B8 shock's)...

On an S3?
Probably about -35mm...anything lower and you'll rip the sump off if you actuall want to drive it anywhere.

-50mm would have the tyres inside the arches at the top...-100 would be plain stupid and in my view, not possible on an S3.
Possibly just viable on a basic high-rise spec A3...but even then, -100mm is an awful lot to drop, so it'll probably awful to drive.

Ess, get some pics up of your old S3. Most people go about 25mm with H & R spring but to me it doesn't make the car look that low. 35mm - 40mm would make it sit nice with the wheels spaced out if possible and with the rear camber sorted IMO.

I like those wheels Glen. We're you running spacers when you had it? That's the sort of design I'm looking at - is that the normal finish, or had you had them treated?

TIA

The photos were with Forge 16mm spacers F & R...although I think it would have looked better balanced on 10mm F and 16mm rears. I just never got round to changing them.

Standard finish was silver painted rim and centre.
I split them, had them machined for clearance and powder coated.

They were an optional wheel from the Mk1 TT...proper Audi part number.

thats as low as your get an s3 with out chopping springs etc and messing up handling, its on ap coilovers with all the cups etc stripped out as for ripping the sump off as everyone mentions that will only happen if you go to low on the front as if i remeber correct thats where the engine is :uhm:

S3 KEV can you get a side pic up please mate
