custom code stage 1
apr stage 1
mrc stage 1 (includes engine health check)

has anyone had any of these maps fitted.

Or can anyone recommend a diffrent one.

Custom codes were offering 40% off the cost of their maps, so may work out as best VFM. Mrc are good for big power cars and know their stuff as do APR.

Easiest way to decied would be to work out who is closest to you in case of problems IMHO

For a 2.7T I wouldn't go to anyone other than MRC, but for a 1.8T Custom Code and/or APR may well have had more development opportunities (but don't quote me on that!).

mmmm mrc's name does get banded about alot im in liverpool so im about 2 and half hours away.

not far i know but i had a astra turbo done by regal in southhampton and found when i had problems it was too far away.

think a call to mrc is in order will ring them today :beerchug:

Can recommend MRC as had my 1.8tqs done earlier this month.

I'm in Liverpool myself. I get all my work done at Unit20 (www.Unit20.org) over on the Wirral. They are Custom Code agents as well.

What do you drive?

hi blue i recently bought a 98 s4 avant standard with cloth trim at the mo but looking to improve hence mapping advice

im really swaying to mrc but like someone else said if it goes faulty then its 2 and half hours up and down the motorways to get it put right

It's not the Ming Blue avant i've started seeing down on Riverside Drive in the mornings is it?

Wouldn't worry about the distance to MRC. I've been down there for remaps and tweaks a few times. Might be two and a half hours down there... the drive up has never taken more than two. :whistle2:
You wouldn't have any problems with one of their remaps. They literally see dozens of S4/RS4's a week and have been the number one tuner for the 2.7T's for a long time.

If you have any problems with the car, get it over to Grizz at Unit20 for a lookover. He can point out any issues with it and he's been a great guy to know whilst i've owned mine.

And I can confidently state without fear of libel action that Lancaster Audi in Liverpool are useless when it comes to the B5 S4. Phoned up the other week to order some small parts, told them it was a 98 S4 and they asked what engine was in it! I took the car there within a week of buying it for a service as it has a FASH up to that point. They identified £700+ of work that "needed doing".
Took the car over to Grizz on the recommendation of a number of people on an S4 forum and he found half of the stuff Audi said was wrong wasn't at all. He then sorted out the other niggles for a fraction of the price. Car get serviced by him twice a year now.
He really knows his stuff. Check out Ash's thread - http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/showthread.php?t=73715
