I am picking up my new A3 Black Edition next week. I want to fit the new type sat nave with AMI, does anyone know where I can get this aftermarket

Stop bumping the thread. This is a very busy forum and your question isn't exactly the most important in the world.
Since the details of the AMI came out your question has been asked about once a week. No one knows the answer so far since no car has been delivered with it fitted so far. Even then we're not expecting new units to be available straight away after that, at least not for a reasonable price.

Cost? There's no way I'd pay a couple of grand for something I can get for less than half the cost. Although like John says, with it being so new it'll take a while for the prices to drop to that.

I have never seen anyone bump a thread twice within 2 hours of posting it on ASN. That's not how this forum runs and never has done.
This forum need more people to do as Mitch and Just017 have done and tell the noobs how things are done.

An important point to remember here is that the new type Sat Nav does not include AMI.
I nearly made this mistake myself when speccing it on my S3.
The AMI option as per Audi brochure reads
Audi Music Interface (AMI).
Universal connection for use with stereo audio sources, USB and
MP3 devices including Apple iPod generation 4 onwards (iPod, iPod classic, iPod mini, iPod
nano, iPod photo, iPod video, iPod touch). Provides intuitive control through the audio system
and multi-function steering wheel (if fitted). It also replicates the iPod display on the audio
screen and Drivers Information System (if fitted), including track titles. The interface provides
MP3 devices including Apple iPod generation 4 onwards (iPod, iPod classic, iPod mini, iPod
nano, iPod photo, iPod video, iPod touch). Provides intuitive control through the audio system
and multi-function steering wheel (if fitted). It also replicates the iPod display on the audio
screen and Drivers Information System (if fitted), including track titles. The interface provides
charging function (dependent on device). Only in combination with DVD Satellite Navigation
You will note the AMI can only be specced with the DVD Sat Nav so I'm guessing this will be a seperate part to the Nav unit.

In Australia the AMI is part of the Nav package (we only get the option of DVD nav anyway)...

When I ordered the car the new brochure wasn't out, didn't come out till a couple of months after I had placed the order. By the time I realized there was a new type it was to late to change the order.I presume your picking up an 09 plate. Why ddn't you just invlude it in your order
