It's amazing what you can do with a bit of sticky back plastic these days!

:undwech:

My cousin got his RS4 Avant which was phantom black vinyl wrapped in white! looks amazing, you would think it was a proper paint job! and the beauty of it is, he can change back whenever he wants! word's can't describe how good looks, i'll ask him if i can get some pics to show you all!

I'm thinking about this for my B7 S-Line cabrio too - maybe do the whole car in the Audi R15 colour scheme for my trip to Le Mans next year.

Or, if I go for something longer term, maybe I'll go for sprint blue for a while, or even that pearl effect white you get on Lambos... Mine is brilliant black as standard...same as most Audis...so I quite like the idea of a change, but love the way it can be returned to standard quite quickly.

Also protects the original paint.

Any idea how much it is for a full car wrap?

I think my cousin said his was about £1000, I think he knew the guy though so I don't if that includes any mate's rates discount etc.

Yeah true and plus his was an Avant too so I reckon your's would be cheaper!

I'm takin my car over to Cyprus cos i'm moving there. I would love to have mine wrapped in white, it would look amazing in the sun!!!

I love the black roof look on a contrasting colour saloon....looks very "new M3". In fact, I wonder if it would be possible to have a realistic carbon-fibre effect vinyl for the roof - that would be very impressive!

I think do the roof but leave your mirrors and door handles the way they are.

Think the roof and mirrors look good, leave the handles though.

where can u get this vinyl to buy...like the black look on the roof...and how much will it cose for a normal b7 sline roof wrap...

This might be a good moment to mention that I run a sign and vehicle graphics company in Cheshire!
We specialise in vehicle wraps (full colour digitally printed and single colour), all our fitters are trained and certificated by 3M to fit their vinyl film so our wraps carry a warranty backed by 3M.
I'd be more than happy to provide quotes at preferential rates to any members who are interested.
Send me a PM and I'll send over details showing our website, gallery etc.

same here based in birmingham, PM me for details :)

Grebowski / The Slug....
Do you guys use a knife on the car when fitting the vinyl? If so, how do you ensure that there is never any damage to the paintwork underneath? That is my biggest worry about having a car wrapped.

There shudnt be any need to cut on any vehicle unless its necessary. I use another vinyl layer underneath to ensure it wont go thru, but tbh ive done that many vehicles you know....like with any job, its only as good as the person whos doing it!

Without cutting on any vehicle, ie around rear tail lights, you bring the vinyl over the lamps and use the edge of the lamps to slide blade along then fold in the vinyl and heat in....if you imagaine, same principle applies to door edges and stuff....

We have been serving the motor industry for years, also motorsports, like BTCC and many other independent racing teams....we wrap vehicles from small smarts to double deckers....any other questions feel free to PM me :)

Whats the spec on the vinyl they are using?

Not sure, this is what their site says:

"Totally Dynamic only uses the best possible materials. We work very closely with Avery Dennison who are the leading supplier's of vehicle wrapping film and we never scrimp on quality to save money.
Vehicle Wrapping can go badly wrong when carried out by inexperienced technicians and when sub-standard materials are used."

They are also based in Birmingham (as well as some other locations) - how much do you charge?

well if its a 5 year warranty it won be the 9/10 year life vinyls we use...btw we work closely with Avery and 3M....no doubt they buy from same supplier as us....im sure we can price match ;)

The Slug - Can you post me some colour/material samples ? PM your number to me so I can call you.

Met a guy in a DB( in Le Mans this year who had a wrap in the full 24 Hour race colours. Looked absolutley superb but cost him nearly £2k!!
