Led Headlights on pre facelift?

i wonder if i could merge my xenons to them daytime running lights off ebay
NHN what do you think ????

i stand corrected RS didnt know that , i thought the shape changed looks damn good though...

A3 DRL Facelift, note the unbroken silver surround...

I reckon NHN could fit a Mouse's **** on an elephant! :)

What I am curious to know is are those A4 DRL a direct fit? If they are mate, them & a private plate could really extend the time I keep my car! Would look different than all the other facelift models without losing the OEM look and feel.

we need to find out but the ones on ebay iff i could merge my xenons in to them and subtle lamin x them they would look the effin nuts ...and dont you mean an elephant **** on a mouse lol hahahaha just dragging it about

Excuse me man ti's the Corona's sometimes my mind works very quickly other times it plodding along, with you asking if NHN could fit your xenon's into those lights, I meant he probably could bad analogy then... lmao! Where my Corona :)

i want i want ....a pub is closing round are way and i dont normally drink cider but magners is a pound a pint ive been out every night this week :whistle2:reminds me of the good ol days of getting ****** every single night... lol those were the days

The bumper on the gold A3 has been modified quite a bit by the looks of it, the gap between the headlights and grille is much bigger than on both pre and post facelift A3's. I reckon a huge amount of work has gone into it to be honest. Its like anything though, if you have the skills and/or money you can do what you like!

Seems such a shame to do such well executed OEM mods, some one off arch work that looks great and then ruin it all by painting it in nappy poo yellow and coating all the grilles in it too, looks pants.

yeah i agree the colour is for fags man looks shyte he should of gone phantom black or pearl lava grey :whistle2:

Lol... magners, I used to be on that alot when at uni... ahhh magners wish I could remember what I was doing :)

Lee well spotted mate, I think it maybe a Hoefele (sp??) bumper I remember that the RS4 grill fitted their S3 bumper, and it also had a bigger than usual gao between bonnet.

Another way?

hmmm not so sure...

when you say another way i dont get you RS arnt the lights sealed

the colour isnt to bad if you look down the side it looks good but i just dont like the white on it

Ahhh, didn't realise the unit were sealed... Does'nt look as good anyway!

Well i'll put my hand up to being guinnea pig to see if these fit and what needs to be done if anyone with the right 'electrical and good DIY'er' kind of brain wants to have a play around?

Let me know and i'll order some

i wonder if he's declared it modified to the insurance company:)

Those headlights look almost standard fitment! In the second pic you can see where the bumper has been modifiedd all the way round to accomodate them. Top job, poo colour, poo doors!

totally agree. Rims sticking inside the arches looks shyte in my opinion too.

Still - credit where credit's due... would happily let them do that A4 headlight converson on mine

Guys do you know from where we can order the head lights from the first post?

Many Thanks ANdi

Yes i would like to wait for the black ones but who knows maybe the lights from dectane will be similar with the ones from A3 8P > 2009.
Let's keep our fingers crossed :)

Why is it these guys just don't copy the OEM ones as closely as possible or at least have the DRL LED's the same way as they are on the face lift? I am guessing it's not a infringement issue, as there are tons of replica wheels out there... Always baffles me this. I mean just up the quality and match to OEM then you can get £300 non xenon & £500 with xenons for those all day long surely?!

Wow ...Nah I did'nt realise...oh well Back to square One....:banghead:

Patience guys, they will be here in RHD as the same company already sells these in RHD for the 8L, Few more months and save the hassle of the LHD issue come MOT time.

Just for those who may know...currently i dont have Xenons, so assusiming this unit fits straight in, what will i need to do? ie does this unit have the ballasts and the control unit for the Xenons with them?

I'm not sure, but there are many posts about aftermarket xenons blowing wiper motors... Maybe this has since been resolved as most problems were from a while back.

It has been Resolved....I have a aftermarket kit from ebay....but mine has a special box to provent that problem....It's been solved ...

Well if the light units contain the ballasts then hopefully i'd just need the Xenon light module and the DRL switch and wiring.

Time will tell

Guys did someboy buy a pair oh headlights from the german ebay seller mentioned in a couple of posts above?

Thanks

How hard is it to fit these lights? i dont have xenons so would it be as simple as plug and play?

you will need to remove the fron bumper to fit the lights. Depending on the connector it could be plug n play, I'm guessing they will have made it the same as OEM. After that its up to you if you want to keep car road legal by fitting washers & sensors for autoleveling.

I know that the light pattern will be OK but that seller doens't send to Romania, unfortunately for me i will have to wait for this item to be sold by different sellers.
