Oooooooooo!!!!

Nice find, but it seems to have exactly the same a/c ailment as mine.

Are these machines really very rare?

Nope. They're just low-res enough to hide the pox that it undoubtably suffers from.

Pox or not, still a nice car, with great potential.

Avant 1,8TQS is rarer than sedan version.

Looking at the previous listing (200345516270) it has the particularly rare quattro sport recaros.

As Siena rightly alludes, shonky but with much potential. The poor thing just needs some love.

I think, or the way I'm now thinking about these cars or maybe the way to think about these cars is to think about these cars as future classics.
If you can get one that's 75% good or even 50% it's not impossible to treat is as going restoration or sustainable project. If you have the money, time, knowledge and stubborness and maybe access to a solid daily driver a car sustaining a car like that (or even mine) is entirely doable. Problem I had / have is that I need someting that can be ignored, turn the key and once a year maybe, make sure it gets through the MoT. Not that I mind doing the work.
If I had the money and another car that was the work horse I'd honestly keep Stinky and get her back to original as best as poss. To buy a car like the one advertised, make sure it was useable without having to garage it every other week is getting a bit of at all order. I'm fully expecting to get shot down for this but these cars are getting on and if they're not looked after , (as I've found) they become a Money Pit, (great film - Tom Hanks was Amazing!). These cars are very usuable, we all prove this, but, I'd love to have a mint B5 tdi q avant or 1.8t the same, keep it mint and take it out when it SNOWING!!!! ha.... but ya know what I mean.

That's the thing. My car isn't quattro (which I'd like) but it suddely came up and screamed "Buy me". I wasn't specifically looking for an A4, Still had my Saab and the company car. But now i've got it, and I love it, and it's in good nick, I might as well keep it.

It will be recieving a cash injection in the very near future.....

Just little things... Cash injection coming from my work contract being renegotiated. And being invested on wheel refurbs, B6/TT brake upgrade, Facelift headlamps w/xenon, and one of AMDs finest little remaps.

And then, it'll be onto the bigger stuff.

Sounds good mate.. you want a nice hybrid turbo too?

All in good time, mate! But yes. Definitely. I won't be at GTI this year but next year I would like to have something to show for myself.... I envisage my car looking almost stock on the outside but having a bit of fire in its belly....

Yeah.. Street Sleeper!! Like your style.

I will have an SP51R turbo (K03 hybrid) up for grabs soon. It'll bolt straight on to your manifold and be good for 220 - 230hp with the right map.. not sure what sort of power you are after but it's there if you want it. Oh yeah it's covered under 10000 miles too.

Why, that sounds ideal! Would make sense not getting the map until the turbo's replaced.... What would happen if I ran that blower for a while on the standard AEB map?

It'll run fine.. boost will come in earlier and be slightly higher but until you get the map no massive differences. Makes a nice spooling sound too.

Will you be going for a custom map?

You'd probably see 200HP on the standard K03 to be honest with the right map mate.. I bet you'll want more power before too long lol.
