Turbo upgrade :)

They fit them to the later cars with small port heads and flashable ECUs for the likes of the hammer file and the K04-15 off the shelf setups

Hmmmm? I thought the TT injectors were supposed to fit?.. not a problem if not but would be much easier to get hold of.

Yeah the airbox may fit with some tweakage but I think I'll be going down the custom intake route. I'll investigate when I get the kit to see how much space is available.

If you get a set of TT unit's I will swap you my 280 injectors I bought SH from the US for my old car.

That'd be good mate.. I pressume SH will be ok for the TT injectors? Has there been any variation in the TT injectors through the years of production?

SH works for me and I have no idea if there has been any change but as long as they are in good working order they should be good to go.

So having my 2000 1.8tqs mapped will only be a generic map? I cant have it 'live' mapped?

Yeah you could get a custom/live map and I pressume yours can be done via the diagnostic port too with it being a much later model.

The generic maps generally push the turbo to a safe limit though so a custom map on a standard/factory fitted turbo wont really be worth it. Custom maps are better for modified setups really.

I see, well id like to upgrade the turbo but it does seem a minefield. I just wish there was a 'to do' route, as in:

You need this turbo, this actuator, and this remap

Just read so many bits here im even more confused now...
Ill be having a full milltek and FMIC before anything else is done but from there im lost on where to go and what to buy....

My turbo will be up for grabs in a few weeks which will bolt straight up to your existing manifold... With exhaust, FMIC, DV valve, uprated TIP and a custom map you should see 220+ BHP.

Just pick a tuner for the map that knows a turbo from their A.hole and you'll be sorted.. I'd look to the route of Custom Code or Jabbasport personally.

Reliable power. Shame that its such a mission to get to cupra R standard power. Maybe i should have bought one of them instead LOL
Ive read all youre post but im running a Bailey DV26 so that should be ok as ive used that at 300bhp on a Vauxhall LET.
Whats the TIP?
And what will youres be up for?

Not sure about the dump valve as our engines use different ways of measuring airflow.. I had an atmospheric DV on mine but it wasn't ideal. A diverter valve will feed the air back into the system but an atmospheric wont.

The money you'd pay for a Cupra R would def get you to 300hp in an A4 IMO.

TIP - Turbo Intake Pipe.

Errrmmm not sure on the price yet.. I'll have a think and let you know.

Yeah please do. I was advised that id run into issues with my bailey item but its running fine on my standard engine, and ive kept all the bits i took off just incase....

Yeah it's not a power issue.. it's more of a problem with the measured air escaping and the ECU not knowing about it. Could run fine but to be certain I'd use a diverter valve.

Just thought mate if yours is a 180HP A4 then you'll probably only gain 20HP more by using my SP51R anyway over the K03s you already have.

Get a K04-15 hybrid (outlaw) as Mark (Byzan A4) is running and you'll see Cupra figures easy.

Scroll Products..

You'll either need to supply a K04-15 for them to work on to make the hybrid or ask them to supply the parts from new. They might even have a second hand unit there if you're lucky.

Email Sean at Scroll Products.. he knows his shizzle. They made my hybrid K03 and I was very pleased with the service.

Docurley and I went for the Full hybrid he was offering that isn't advertised. It's a Sp51X Outlaw turbo, It's based on a K04-15 but has larger hot and cold side and is machined out to take the new internals as well as having Dual feed bearings fitted and being balanced to a high tolerance.

Mine at the mo is making 250bhp and 270 ft/lb torque, but we are of the opinion that with a new plashable Me7 ECU she is capable of quite a bit more.

Drizz if you are at GTi Inters, both Lee and i will be there with our different setups, should be good for comparison on the strip,as its a more real world difference than actual power figures

..saying that though my map isn't good so probably wont be a very realistic comparison as I don't dare crank the boost up too high as the fueling goes way out using a bleed valve.

Although I'm still up for the Q.mile lol.. Next year I'll be set to take the A4 AEB crown :p

From start to finish? As i didn't have a turbo engine in my car originaly. Or to put the Hybrid unit on?

IIRC it was around $650 delivered from Poland, then the map, which i got from Chipped UK as it was my 2nd map from them from a std K03 map, i had the 2nd second bit at a discount still it was £500 ish for mapping .

That took me several attempts to get it somewhere near but it's close on std 4 BAR FPR and Injectors. I have since added a high flow Exhaust mani( $100) and FMIC (£400 ish) so i want to get the map tweaked to suit, but will wait until i fathom out the Flashable ECU conversion properly so i can get it done once. I understand Custom Code can do it for a shade under £400, though my first preference is to go to Jabba as they seem to know a lot about these ECUs being used in Golf 1.8t Conversions and the like

Yeah yeah,lol:gun2::p

Is there a particular MAF that is preferable when upgrading from the AEB to the TT MAF?

I assume it's from the 225HP TT but there are various different Bosch part numbers available.

Has Docurley purchased a MAF previously? If so which one?

I just remembered i have a MAF from one of the newer cars ill include it in the kit just to get you running. But ill have to confirm part no's so i 100% know its the newer MAF.
