Black Edition

Hi,

Just wondering if you guys can help,

Ive just took my first step into the audi family with the order of my 1.8TFSI Black Edition which i chose in "Brilliant Black" (especially after seeing all you guys A3's). After quite a conciderable amount of net trawling ive been unable to find a picture of the BE in "Brilliant Black" (the closest ive found is a new S3). Unfortunantly the dealer only had a white one for me to look at, but i was so impressed i ordered as soon as i could. The reason i would like to see the car in brilliant black is ive started to concider changing my order to "monza silver" as i love the way it looks but would like to see if its worth the extra £490.

Essentially could you guys with Brilliant black/Monza silver A£ BE's throw so good quality images my way?

Also on a side note, does anyone know if the window tints are removable?

Thanks for your Help.

Nick

I'd go for Monza Silver over Brilliant Black. Black paint along with all the other black bits is over kill and with the silver its a nice contrast, plus its quite a nice silver rather than bland boring silver.

But I think white is the best colour to get the Black Edition in after seeing the pics of the white ones in this thread. Look great.

Haha, i canged to monza but in the end went for Phantom... seems like the most popular colour. I dont think i could get away with changing again... they would probably linch me.

Well my Black Edition somehow came with standard alloys "as the dealer missed the code off the order" (which I must stress have now been replaced) - work that one out? :p

As I previously confirmed, it is possible to change the colour of the wheels on the Black Edition. So there is nothing to work out!
My wife chose the bright silver colour wheels over the titanium colour items on her Phantom Black, Black Edition. IMHO I think they look better in bright silver.

"Xerohour' Privacy Glass is manufacturered with the 'Tint', Save yourself the time and embarrassment of going to a "tint specialist" as you cannot remove the Tint as it is not a film. The only way to illiminate the tint is to replace all your glass:mad: Costly and with many risks:no:

To be fair ive now seen the privacy glass up close and quite like it, seems internet renderings and photos dont quite do it justice. I was expecting limo style black but in fact its not that dark...

3 door at Warrington Audi...

that looks much lighter than the privacy glass they used to do it looks like mine which is medium tint all round

Thought Id throw up the remaining pictures of the White Black Ed. at Warrington Audi... Mine seems such a long way off...

A3BE,
Where did your wife order her car from? I too prefer the silver colour wheels

Thinking of getting 19" RS4 Titaniums wheels fitted to my Ibis White BE. Anyone else interested in getting any as may be able to sort a group buy out..

I think the 18" just dont look big enough from a distance, they look fine up close but think they just miss..

any ideas where you can get S3 pedals? is it worth buying them from Audi directly?

Do a search fella, its been mentioned a thousand times.... Stoke Audi will do them for £104.00 delivered.

Thats how I got mine.

cheers, yes absolutely love it, puts a smile on my face everytime i drive it def an Audi convert! my favorite also number 4, currently have it as my desktop.

have had my 170TDI automatic Black Edition for 24 hours now. i am so happy its beyond words.

fast, smooth and no noise once you are driving - none.
i have driven an automatic BMW330ci and this compares to it for sure.

the changes between gears with the paddles is so smooth its untrue.

if anyone is wondering about diesel or not (like i was) there new common rail engines are quiet i said QUIET.

the looks are growing on me, it wasnt an instant "i love it" for the exterior.
the interior is really well finished even if it has slightly more plastic then i would like.
the steering wheel will take some getting used to also.

all in all i am so chuffed. this is from someone who is used to BMW and MERCEDES cars.

i just wish the electric mirrors closed when you locked the car rather then having to do it manually !!!

Lol, yes I've already considered the folding mirrors mod, until I saw how little they moved!

Sorry for the delay. Not been on here for a while. She purchased her Black Edition from Birmingham Audi, you can order the bright silver wheels when you spec your car at any Audi dealer though.

Good job we had the silver wheels as one has got to be repaired due to her being run off the road on the school run:banghead: *!$?* was thinking about replacing the wheel as the repairs are never that good, £400.00 though has made me think of the repair option though.

No worries ordered with silver wheels. Asked coz one dealer said you had to get the titanium ones :wtf:
Sorry to hear about the damage

All those that missed the Black Edition order deadline of 30 Jun have got another chance!
Just noticed on the Audi offers page that the Black Edition offer is back on until the end of September. Seems that the 'extras' appear to be the same! I guess Audi never said it was a limited edition just that 'you'd be lucky to see one'!!

Because my old hosting account has gone now (and because I still love my car to pieces after nearly 4 months of ownership!) here's a reminder of mine ....

I too still love my car 4 months on, its the same as evapo8 except its the 2.0ltr TDI Quattro which is absolutely awsome. I have been recently made redundant. But my car isnt going any where. I will live in it if i have to. I have only seen one other black edition and that was the other day on the M3 near bournemouth. They seem to be so rare.

a black edition. i am so on the look out after having mine for 2 weeks.

i have to say i get a hell of a lot of looks in the car!!! love it.

I've seen 5 or 6 now! In fact every 09 A3 I see seems to be a black edition!

clearly you live near an audi factory!
i see a lot of cars that think they are black editions but are clearly not!

Ashley

EDIT: I'ev not seen many Black Edition See loads of 09 Sport's or S-line

This could have been me.......... was it white?

I regularly pass a Black Three door BlackEdition in the New Forest.

I've mine for two months now and love it, just have to drive it everywhere.

The big hole on the side is the side sensor. Not really sure why it is like that. Maybe the park assist requires a different type of sensor.

that audi garage is about 1/2 a mile from my house, you live in southampton? seen a couple of white a3's around the area.

First Post - First Audi...

I pick my Black Edition A3 5dr 170PS FWD up on Friday from Slough Audi. Hopefully will post some pics over the weekend after a quick wax.....!

Cheers!!

Chaps,

Picked this up back in late March/April, and haven't got round to posting since. A few folk have asked about the Monza colour so i've got my **** in gear finally and taken some picks : we all like looking at A3s.

Delighted.

Went from an Ibis TFSI with 200ps, down to the 140ps TDi............and i'm not disappointed. Haven't even bothered Mapping it yet as i'm just enjoying it for what it is.

Its looks the part and i'm totally satisfied with the colourway - the Monza Silver with the Graphite wheels looks the ****, and with the DRLs or full beam Xenons on the the thing looks stealthy as hell. Easily the best package for an A3 i've had (and this is my 5th) - near perfection...........until Audi produce a new model that is ;-)

Have none of you thought about getting the s-line badge for the grill?
I was considering switching to the S3 black optics until i got the s-line badge for the grill... sets it off and makes the front end look a lot meaner... will post pics if anyone is interested....

Well I leave in Portsmouth but I work in Southampton. I liked more the Dealer at Chandler's Ford so I got it from there. :)
I've seen 2-3 White a3's but most of them 5 door.
